    Jephyr X: Thank you sir!
I'm glad you felt inspired. I mean I certainly feel the same way when looking trough sketchbooks here in CA and sometimes it's just that that gets me going when I feel depressed and frustrated. I believe it's one of the best things about this place.

I'm doing my best to just keep on banging those studies. I'm just glad that when I'm feeling down or just plain lazy there's always someone whos gonna either crack the whip or just offer encouraging words like you just did. That keeps me going. So thank you.

todays warmup. speedpaint of a great photo I found from natgeo site.
Painted most of it without glasses. Pretty useful trick considering theres no need for squinting to blur out the details. Never thought that poor eyesight would be so useful to pick out colors.

    BTW Natgeo volcano photo gallery:

    awesome stuff there be.

Nice hand studies and woot, I see some Bridgman arms as well! Very nice sense of light on that cloud study. Keep it up!

Smuli: sheesh your such a Bridgman fanboy.
But yeah thanks. Making the cloud study was surprisingly easy and relaxing...maybe I am actually improving at this stuff.

About Bridgman, you bet I am. I owe him tons but maybe I've gone overboard with ranting about him, of course there's many good ways to learn anatomy and you should pick the one you're most comfortable with.

Good sketches, I like the composition and colors on the small one!

Smuli: Rant away! Bridgman is excellent and certainly among my first recommendations to people wanting to learn human anatomy.

watdekikker: Thanks! I'm glad you liked my stuff.

    Satupeikko: thankies!

Justyna: thank you! Glad you liked my scribles.

It was too hot last night to sleep so out of whim I decided it was a good idea to draw some ~100 30-60 sec gesture drawings in one sitting. Interesting experience. Both illuminating and painfull....mostly latter.

Not sure if I manage to do anything today so I'll at least post these for now.

Todays warmup study: photo study from LOTR:ROTK screenshot.

Boy this was difficult. The changes between values and colors were really subtle. Ran out of time with this one, I could go on tinkering with this one and eventually finish it, but not now as I have more important things to deal with.

edit: added Edelfelt studies I sketched last night and really quick paint of what I happened to see when I watched out of window. Looked interesting but I didn't have camera with me so I just really speedily and crapily painted what I saw.

Wunnerful stuff. I particularly like the lizards, dinos and other animals, but I'm biased.

Also: I'd love bongos more if the ones at the nearest zoo came into the open more. And that digital texture a couple of pages back does look pretty good, IMO.

    ...which is only my opinion.

    Lupodirosso: Thankyou!

Vermis:Nothing bad about being biased, especially when dinosaurs are involved.
And I would also love bongos more if our local zoo would have some.

Another game of thrones screenshot study. Lord Frey.

Screenshot in #135 is just wonderful. All the studies are very inspiring too, just great stuff.

Keep working hard man, the results are already showing.

Galeo: Thanks! I'm trying my best to get the likeness right. It's quite a battle still but I'm glad to hear I'm finally getting it somewhat right.

Ismo: Thank you sir. and thanks for encouraging words!

Velocity Kendall: Wow. What can I say. Thanks! BTW What do you think about the end result of that magma monster thing? Would love to hear
some C&C. Wasthe latest version improvement and in which ways.

ishfishmial0: Wow, just wow. Thank you!

Todays stuff: Sargent study and three Edelfelt ones. And because of positive feedback and because I actually truly like painting these, another GoT study. yay!

Morning sketch: Enviro speedpaint from...IMAGINATION! dun dun dunhh!

Quite happy how this turned out. Actually I might have some future plans for this environment. Plans which might or might not include dinos.

really rushed Bierstadt study and some sketchy dinos on the speedpaint I posted earlier. The latter is making me tear my eyes off and hair out. It just...doesn't feel right. But the things is I don't know what it is that makes me feel that way. I'm guessing it's perspective but I have no idea how to fix it. trust me I have tried.

I really need some C&C on this.

The idea is that these herbivorous dinosaurs are picking some juicy fruits amongst the all the dry leafs. the viewer and the animals are in the shadow and what little light is coming trough is passed trough foliage so I'm going for a soft dim light. There will be some mottled light here and there.

I really like your work, especially the ones with dinosaurs and landscapes in them. Oh, I looked through all the pages. I can't say anything critiqueish about it, just I really like your work!

Saw dinos and of course had to look my way though these five great pages.
I dig all those traditional studies. Especially the animals, and ESPECIALLY the big and little dinos!
Those sceneries with great complementary contrasts are an eye catcher, dude!
    *thumbs up*
