    My new favorite pencil

It's been a while since I've been at CA, but I saw this picture this morning and I immediately thought of you all here, working so diligently on those sketchbooks. Hope it makes you smile like it did for me.

I wonder if there's a place I can get a few of these printed.

Isn't that a trademark infringement? Photoshop is a tm of Adobe, and it's not a normal word, so they can't say it's coincidence. I'd sue them if I was Adobe

I think fair usage rights allow the use of Copyrighted materials for the sake of education, commentary or criticism. I think this goes nicely under the category of Criticism.

    Cool

Wow... unclench, people. I wasn't looking to have a copyright discussion. I just wanted pass along something I found a bit amusing.

I love Photoshop/Illustrator to death... but some days, I just want nothing to do with computers, and it's nice to know there's always the simple pleasure of a pencil/sketchbook to turn to. Perhaps this is a pencil for those days, even at $3. Somehow, I don't think the people who made the pencil were looking to make a political statement

I hope this doesn't descend into a thread about digital vs traditional artists...

No, I think it will be a thread about why you shouldn't spend $5 on a pencil .

Blind- I think it's pretty funny, no argument intended towards you in any way.

I laughed out loud, quite literally. Honestly, if I ever did get this pencil I'd mount it on the wall as a conversation point.

As someone who loves digital art in all its form, it's fun to have a little fun poked at the program of my choice.

i think i understood it as a criticism of the fact that alot of people think of photoshop as a replacement for traditional media. and the fact that we are developing a generation of artists who are becoming less and less proficient at actually drawing and instead focus on the glitz and glam of fancy brushes and filters.

But thats just how i read it...and i do (to some extent) agree with that point.

When i was in art school i knew alot of illustrators who actually hated drawing, but could work wonders with PS to hide their lack of technique.

Oh dear. I might spend five dollars just to give my artist friends a laugh when I use it.

So... you wrote FUCK PENCIL, on a pencil. You do realize that this makes the phrase read differently, right? Now, it reads more like a label, which changes FUCK from a verb to an adjective. I'm not sure that's what you intended.

"Hey, this is my FUCK PENCIL. What do you think?"
    "Stay away from me..."
