    So while I was stumbling around the internet looking for photos to do studies of the eye for my sketchbook I came across this. Dunno if its been posted before, but wow. That is some detail. I don't think after finding this I have an excuse to not do realistic eyes...

    Wow, those are great. I love how they look like some star nebula or something. Some of them look more like a desert landscape... or sponges

    Hmmm...pretty sure those eyes are seriously diseased...so I wouldn't be using that as reference...

    Nop, not diseased at all. The iris is a muscle, and you can clearly see the muscle filaments here. Every iris for evey human being is unique, that's why all these vary so much from each other.
