Thanks for the quick feedback jsn, Bruce Pluto and aretoon. I agree that this image could be pushed a little further so I may try tighten it up a bit more when I am finished with my next piece.

my biggest crit is that it looks like you made one dragon, and just copy pasted it, the lighting and texture is very nice though

Thanks for the feedback cbiscuit. I will be addressing the dragons to make them vary a bit more.

that's fantastic. that one will be going in my favorites folder...but you have to add some more details! Most of the rock is blurry and the temple looks great but the lighting on it is kind of dull. You could add some more dramatic lighting to the important parts. Maybe tone down the hole in the rock a bit, even make it bigger. Right now you have 3 conflicting focal points: the castle, the ship, and the hole in the rock. I think you need to pick one and tone down the other two a bit to keep the flow going better. Also my eye gets stuck on the fog over the rocks in the right foreground. Seeing as those are close to the camera I would think they would have less, and keep together with the sharper style of the rest of the piece. Also some more hilights and size variety in the dragons would be great, you could make it clearer that the dragons are circling around the castle for some reason which adds to the back story. Keep in mind with this, it's better a better design and execution than any of my work to date, I just hope to help you out too.

Thanks for all the feedback jbrown67.

I am glad you like the overall piece and really appreciate all the suggestions to make it better. I have already started working on detailing the rocks and tighting up the details around the focal point of the temple. I am glad to hear your feedback on too many focal points as I will address that in the final. I also like your idea of giving a reason for the dragons to be circling the temple so I will have to address that as well. Anyhow thanks for the feedback.

    Best,

    twhite
