Are jobs as an animator solild?

So pretend a student graduated from Ringling, CalArts, etc., landed a job at Disney or Pixar as a lightning specialist for a certain film (I know it's extremely difficult... but let's just say this is the case). After the production of that animated film is over, would their monthly paychecks stop coming until they are working on another film or will he/she be let go?

    Thanks!!

im pretty sure at studios like disney and pixar people are hired as full time employees, and these studios usually have multiple projects going at the same time, so when one film is finished people just move on to the next film/project. Though these studios might also hire contract artists to work on just a particular project, or whatever is agreed to in their contract.
