    My family has this giant stack of true crime books about murderers and there were so many real life cases with... if you can ignore the poor taste of it actually having happened.. interesting images. Gacy in his clown makeup, John George Haigh disposing his victims in a tub of sulphuric acid, Fritz Haarmann tearing out the throats of men with his teeth, George Smith drowning his wives in the bathtubs. People can be so creative when it comes to doing genuinely awful things to each other. :{

I mostly kept thinking of the Papin sisters, two maids who murdered the wife and daughter of their employer and were later found together naked in bed by the police.

    That, and The Shining.

Bnoch: Woopwoop, jumping on the hype-train here but this is some really great storytelling. I'd like it a bit less obvious though. This screams hollywood serial-killer from the getgo so you might try a little subtlety and thus more depth.

Missile: I know what you mean. My favorite (Albeit kind of nightmare fuel) was a nurse who would shoot her victims up with overdoses and then lie beside them while they died. Creepy... ._.

This ones too good to pass up, some cool designs being posted on this topic!

Heres my initial idea. I'm struggling alot with the skins texture and lighting though. I'll keep working at it but any advice would be awesome

logistic puppet: Before you get to the skin texture, take another look at your anatomy. His torso feels a little stretched (or maybe his pants are just coming too far down) and his head is too far to the right. Think about is pose as well, for how far his weight is shifted forward his legs should be positioned differently with his feet apart more. Also think about where the viewer is in relation to the figure. Right now the point of view is below the character but his face is straight on. Is that because he is looking downwards directly at the viewer? That is fine if it is true but think about it. I hope this was helpful.

NateShaw Thanks alot man, you've been a massive help! I guess I got so caught up in trying to get the lighting and textures working that I completely overlooked the proportions. I'll sort them out asap

going a similar direction as partisan.
this guy is clearly one of the "good guys". he's been told to cleanse the earth of orcs. but even after the war has ended, even after truce has been declared with the orcs, the doctrines still haunt his mind, and he can't stop killing. entire villages have already fallen at his hand. Children or women, it doesn't matter. he's trapped in his own mind.
let's hope i can finish this the way i intend to.
btw, lianti, i think the arm holding the device is too long.

st. s: its coming along pretty nicely; the mood, the painting, and the colors are working out pretty well. His expression is putting me off though. Its almost like he didn't know what he did, like he accidentally killed the dude, like he was defending himself. A serial killer would be more intentional. Also I think it would be funny if those scissors were stuck in the head of the dude in back.

Thought i'd post this after giving the proportions abit of tweaking. Ive throw abit of base colour on too to experiment with mood.
Still feelin somethings off though. Perhaps the right shoulder..

Also i'm lovin how different everybodys designs are. I'm looking forward to seeing how they all turn out.

Thanks again to NateShaw for helpin us out.

First time post or at least on this thread, but here are two of my idea sketches. this first one I was thinking of serial killer in the action so thought of a girl who gets off by choking her mates, don"t know yet she a lesbian or just hates dudes. The second is more of a schizophrenic that constantly hears voices to kill so he kills so they'll shut up but they never do. Total newbie here so comments and crits are appreciated.

found this old picture of Ralph Fiennes

and it instantly gave me that idea, this guy looking like he is showing off what he got, being proud and pretentious and making a photo-shoot for a major magazine at the same time ...just with ...dead bodies hanging in the back .... its just a quick paintover and sketchy thing ...just changed the eyes a bit ...but I do not have the time to finish this till deadline plus atm I dont feel that I could do this idea justice ( as I do not have the skills to do this like I want it to look : sketchy and dark and realistic looking ) so for now it will just be this idea, just wanted to share it with you...additional he could have some sort of a clown thing going on ...with all the hair and blood around his mouth ^^

Wow I have to say this is the best Chow I have seen in a while. All the illustrations look crazy so far. By some kind of fluke I was commissioned by a band this week to do an illustration of a serial killer from our area for their new album.

    Brauheist

check out 1 song on their myspace. If you like metal you will like this. These guys are awesome. if you like my art or the band and want to know when the album is coming out I will post the info on my blog in a few months once everything is finallized

Not saying it's finished quite yet. I'm gonna add some textures in and fine tune some stuff.

I thought giving this a little twist. Just because you're a serial killer, it doesn't mean everything needs to be dark and creepy. After all, remain normal is the first lesson any killer hoping to upgrade to serial.

So here comes my pretty, sunny, sweet girl who love killing and gardening.

Did some more on my serialkiller...
Still don't know what to do with his hands, they're to small and the gun doesn't seem right, perhaps a knife would be easier and would also do it...what do you think?

Wow, the designs here just get creepier and creepier. XD Anyway, here's an update of mine. I gave him more personality with new facial traits, smoothened out the shading on the belly, added suspenders and changed the colours. But there's still much to be done!

Its the affably evil cannibal office worker!

A little bit inspired by American Psycho and such.

    hi, a wip

Hey, ok this is my WiP I hope I get it done cause I need to learn to make deadlines and also need to learn to draw really badly hehe. Ok, so if you say Serial Killer I always think first of a butcher that turn his victims into baby back ribs and then sells them for a good price. I'm not really good with the photoshop stuff yet, neither do I have a drawing tablet (I have one the size to make signatures) so I always draw in pencil, scan and then try my best to make it look good. Just started yesterday so not gone a long way yet. Hope to update again later tonight. Thanks for giving sugestions (please, no technical terms cause I won't understand anything untill I look it up on Go*gle). Love some of the stuff that's online so far. Byezz.

Here's my attempt to draw a black widow serial killer. It's probably not the most original concept. However, just like when I watch horror movies the suspense before the deaths (and the background music) is what always gets me. In this case the scene before the actual killing of her unsuspecting victim.
She might look fragile but that's just part her plan. Any comments and critics will be greatly appreciated.
