    An Artistic Endeavour

Hello! One of the latest noobs here. I've been looking around at some of the threads and I'm amazed at all of the helpful feedback. Although I'm young at 14, I'm aspiring to have some sort of career that involves art, so I might as well try to develop my abilities now. I've just been drawing whatever, but maybe I can start broadening my horizons.

Here's some of the art that I have on hand...

    An Artistic Endeavour
Drawn in charcoals, they're a lot of fun to use!

    An Artistic Endeavour
I was doodling in school, some classes are a bit slower than others.

    An Artistic Endeavour
Wip of a creature, it's only a small part of the image though.

    An Artistic Endeavour
I also work in PS, this isn't very recent though...
I tried to create a color scheme with 'royal' colors.

Well, that's about it for now. Thanks for looking, and comments and critique are always welcome and appreciated!

Hey, nice creatures! You seem to be fond of dragons, that's good. Dragons are awesome
It's too early to crit, show some more work! I find it easiest to give feedack once I've seen a person post work frequently as it's easier that way to see what approach that person has to art and studying. That, in turn, is critable.. makes sense? anyway, hope you'll like it here.
When I started out 2-3 years ago it was a bit scary at first but people are really kind and helpful

    enjoy!

Thanks! Haha, I am, they are awesome. ^^
Yeah I understand! I'll put some older pictures up for now, hopefully I can get some more recent stuff up soon. It is a bit scary, at least right now. Everyone is so dang good! x3 Thanks so much!

When I post new art I'll start actually attaching the images. Hopefully.

    An Artistic Endeavour
This one is from quite a few months ago, but I still kinda like it. Even if it is weird xD

    An Artistic Endeavour
I abused the burn tool. And attempted a reflection in the eye.....eh.

    An Artistic Endeavour
Heh. Heh heh. If only puke looked like that.

    An Artistic Endeavour
A painting for a friend. Pretty pleased with this. Acrylics do dry fast though.

Alright, hopefully next time I can post some new drawings....

This is a painting I did for art class, it's acrylic. It's not my favorite, but I thought I would post it anyways for some possible feedback

You seem to have a strong imagination so you have alot of potential!

I think that since you seem to love dragons (as you should!) you best get doing some studies of birds and reptiles so you can improve on them quickly

Oops, been awhile since I've updated this place.

I've been drawing some random stuff lately. The cheetah is a gift to a friend, and I'm pretty happy with it. I think it shows me that I can create decent art if I work hard.

Then we've got some little doodles and such of an idea for a character I have.

I need to do some more study type work. :/

good stuff, your better then I was at your age. Keep doing studies and trolling this forum, lots of great resources on here.
    Love the rainbow puke.

p.s - you should post your sketchbook as your signature, so it's easier to find.

Goodness, so sorry for not keeping up with this place! I must try to do better in the future. Maybe I'll just start dumping anything and everything here, ha.

Rhubix, thank you very much! This place has been extremely helpful for the short time I have been here. Haha I like the puke one too.
Oh I'd forgotten about that, sorry to make you go through that trouble! Thanks for the reminder.

Thank you amaranthblossom! I still have a lot of work to do with color, but it is a lot of fun to play around with.

Thanks Velocity Kendall! I really do need to post more, haha.

Now here's a random scene I've doodled out, you can really see how much I fail at buildings. Though I didn't really try as it is a rough sketch. Don't be afraid to critique! Hmm. Leg looks odd now, too skinny, proportions look off as well. One of many things~

I like how imaginative your work is. Only thing I can suggest is keep studying anatomy, because some of your creatures look a bit...smoothed over, like they need some more muscles/bones. I don't know, whatever, keep posting!

Thanks ohucthulhu! Yes, I believe you're right. I've been needing to do a few studies for a while now, but procrastination and lazyness tends to stick around instead. Thanks for the tip!

Ok, I tried to do an anatomy study, this is of the torso. It's not beautiful, but it really taught me a lot in a short time. I also sketched a few bird wings and one that had a neck with curves that intrigued me. I didn't spend much time on them, and it shows.
And I threw in a sketch of a wolf I'm working on for her friend as a late birthday present.
    Critique is welcome!

    Nice imagination work.
I'd suggest more figure studies and value studies from photos or from life (still lifes)

    Thank you for the suggestions!
I think that is a swell idea, perhaps I can do some of those studies soon.

In the meantime, here are a few sketches that I've done. Some are more recent than others.
Right now I'm too lazy to attach them. ._.

I like the scorpion(?) creature in your latest post. It reminds me of No face from spirited away.

Some are really bad, I know.
Can't win em all - I don't think any of us can look over our body of work and not hate most of it. As long as you look at it as an opportunity to improve, and don't turn into an emo hermit it's all good

I'm not sure what it is either Rhubix, haha. Thanks! I've never seen that movie but I've heard stuff about it and it sounds interesting. Hmm, it does look like No Face. I just wanted to slap a smileyish face on something rather creepy though, haha.
I guess you're right. c: Thanks, maybe now I won't turn into an emo hermit, lol.

Thank you very much Aquaticdog! Perhaps I'll do some tonight, I do need to practice humans in general. They're not very pretty, haha. Figure studies will help me to work out some of those kinks.

And since I have this, I'll go ahead and post it.

Watercolors are a lot of fun to work with.
