    It crawls through the fax.

    Hello!
hard to know what to say
I love this site; you guys and girls, the citizens of ConceptArtdotOrg, are truly kings. CAO is like a futuristic post-scarcity economy where money is obsolete and the only
currency worth anything is enthusiasm, creativity, respect for hard work and funny jokes. One day with any luck the whole world will be like this. Till then its our little town, and I love living here.

sorry about the slightly brainbending disorder, heres my Behance where its sorted into categories and such

Love your landscapes... I see you have been on the Milford sound Cruise as well!
Magic place. I must have taken 13 gigs worth of reference images in NZ.

Maybe you can spend some more time polishing those?

Yeah, wacoms come with practice, like everything else. If you can get good at using a Wacom, there's no point getting a Cintiq really.

I could share some of my photos of NZ with you if you like; I love landscape photography.

You should be able to view them here, let me know if my settings prevent it.

There's something about a Mountain or a cliff that mangles with my sense of space that feels really awesome.

Whoa those are gorgeous. Do you mind if I use some of them to do studies from? The windblown trees are astonishing.
There is something strange about mountains; I went up Cotapaxi a few years ago and even though from a distance you could see it was a discrete object, from its slopes it was so stupendous even a long hard climb seemed to move you nowhere toward the distant summit. The thin air totally tricks your automatic ability to judge distance by blueness, as you can at sea level.

I hear good things about Colorado's mountain ski areas, though personally I admire the Northern end of the Rockies more based on what I've seen, particularly northern Canada and Alaska, and to some extent, the mountains behind Seattle.

Alaska just looks surreal though, considering you can see a five thousand Metre peak from Sea level.

And sure, go right ahead! I'm doing studies from them myself =)

That $600 DSLR camera was well worth it for these shots XD

Thanks! Re reference tagging, Ill get on it. Mostly Im just drawing people and things around me; my sister, my exgirlfriend, my cousins dog, but google image search provides lots of landscapes.

Ive been all through the rockies and the sierra nevada, and through the andies in ecuador. Ecuador had a wide range of landscapes, but some of the most striking were the giant glens, like scotland scaled up 2 times. Epic

Speaking of huge things, Im a big fan of thunderclouds; you can easily superimpose a stupendous 30km high building over one to get a feel for what truly big engineering would be like.

    Have you uploaded these before?

I feel like I've seen quite a few of these somewhere else.

Yep I have a Finally Finished thread with a lot of the sci fi stuff in, but it seemed wrong to keep adding junk and chitchat to that. Theres a link in my sig. People dont like to crit stuff to hard in the FF section, whereas here its a lot more brass tacks. I love it when people do paintovers and would welcome that kind of advice! heres all my free time stuff from the past few weeks. Ill keep adding as I go.
Do you know if its possible to change the position of images once theyve been uploaded, theyre all mixed together at the moment in no order..

It's really a case of re-uploading them in the order that you want. That's the only way I know how.

And what's with your Facebook name?

more recent drawings, for a friend and her business partner, and my sister. They requested it was "zany and kooky," ouch. My friend Lucy looks a bit like Captain Planet in my version unfortunately but a nice way to spend an afternoon. Its striking how even a tiny change to the shapes or tones round the eyes and mouth can totally change the expression. our mental map of those areas of skin and muscle is clearly very nuanced, we must devote a lot of brain time and volume to reading those cues. my ability to recreate the expresion is less nuanced. the wacom seems very freeing tho; you can have a go at anything very quickly. its like learning a new playstaton game, training the muscles in your hand to draw what to see. i hope practice will pay off

Your landscape studies are doing a bit better than your character ones methinks, which can only mean one thing: More practice on the characters! =D

If you wanted to know, the one you did last post was Bluff, which is the Southernmost Settlement in NZ.
