ahh~! I like how you work orthographic then, BAM a beautifully rendered vehicle!! ahh love your stuffs
critiques + feedbacks
i fill up lots of pages with biro drawings, scan the ones i need and bin the rest... cos theyre shite! then i build a really rough model, like these or the ones above, then build a much more refined one (thats what im doing today actually) based on the rough messy one.
these sorts of things, normally i never show anyone cos theyre so messy and ugly, but its a sketchbook so i guess its ok!
rough working model
and from rough crap models like that, figure stuff out, and when its more or less right, build a nice neat one... watch this space if that seems interesting...
here is some more. as you can see my drawing isnt up to much, but i sort of relised it doesnt matter too much unless the finished product is a drawing. i tend to do loads of really terrible drawings just to figure things out, and then scan em and chuck em.
i guess what im saying is, i used to be sort of paralysed sometimes worrying my drawings sucked. but then i just kind of accepted they sucked but still needed to design things, so drew them anyway. it was a BIG weight off. totally frees you up to just get on with your work without worrying itll be graded on style points, cos who cares? its all about getting the final product looking nice and working rihgt, not making a fancy moleskin.
im not saying this is the right way, but it works ok so far. THE POWER OF THE SUCK!

Takashmen, thanks a lot mang! i think the font was about cutting away as much as possible off the letters and numbers but keep them recogniseable, and look all futury and stuff,

hm, do the pictures look all tiny to you?

Yeah, looks to be part of how the new beta CA is currently treating attatchments.
That aside, stunning renders as always VK!
So true, I regularly have to remind myself of this. Many of us often get carried away with the "precious" moleskine and never really use it to its potential as a sketch-book, not finished-artwork-book!i guess what im saying is, i used to be sort of paralysed sometimes worrying my drawings sucked. but then i just kind of accepted they sucked but still needed to design things, so drew them anyway. it was a BIG weight off. totally frees you up to just get on with your work without worrying itll be graded on style points, cos who cares? its all about getting the final product looking nice and working rihgt, not making a fancy moleskin.
Anyway, I have to reiterate, really slick renders, I'm always blown away by your concepts here. Thanks for sharing and thanks especially for giving us an insight into your process.
Wowee! you've got some awesome stuff here! I really like the mixture of 3D and 2D work in here, I also really liked the low poly ship paint over that is just awesome sauce. Your pen sketches have some nice volume to them and I would really love to see more of them? Looking forward to the next update
Thank you so much Kam, really appreciate that. i always say the same thing, but its always true too.
heres some more jet from after work, getting bang into these polys theyre wicked. suddenly can make what i want, not what i have to put up with cos i dont know how to make things properly. good times.
BS aww. and i agree, facebook is horrid for images, makes them all lego-y like theres no tomorrow.
maybe a garden party in the back?
MT no probs man, glad it was of some interest! and yeah, preciousness is fine for some jobs, but it sure kills the fuck out of my ability to design stuff. its all about the spasticated drawings!!

well thanks for sharing these treasures !!! For me thats great drawing, you put down what needs to be put down with that medium for this work. Keep sharing inspiration mate
this is a bit strange, ages i knocked up this villa to fill space in the brochure as they didnt have anything designed to go there yet. the other day they sent the plans through for it. surreal. i hope it doesnt fall down!

i finally see "you" in your art, great job, i love it!
it's quite something to be able to open one's perception wide enough to allow other points of view one did not even fathom existed, in.
]muchos gracias sam! wow thats cool to hear, really glad youre feeling it man.
mr f, thanks a tonne dude, if you like this try a modelling tutorial, its a bit confusing but loads of fun!
i really liked blazingdimensions little flyer and very cheekily used it as a demo for my tad class, big thanks to bd and his ickass design.
i dont think my interpretation lived up to the sketch really but i ran out of time.. ah well.
I would like to take a vacation in that villa! Great sketchbook
you sir are absolutely amazing... I'm saving some of your work to practice material renderings from if you don't mind, thank you very much for posting all of these!
haha nah i cheat! painting refletions is hard and takes tonnes of practice; letted 3dsmax doesnt at all hehe... help yourself, take anything you like, and thankyou so much for commenting!

wow i fucking love the designs of your different boats and aircraft. it may sound like a insult, but your renderings remind me of the early stuff when people started to work with 3D stuff or the old series I watched as a kid. I dont know if you're doing this on purpose, but that's what so appealing about your work lately. What are these for? I could not find any infos about that...
