Yefim: Thank you! I'm glad you think so
Xelar: Thank you for the clarification, and I truly appreciate the criticism! I'll strive to be more ambitious with my poses.

Cassandra again. I'm aiming to make a bad ass movie-esque poster out of this.

The grass is stunning and the character textures are brilliant. Well done. The head part of the robe is a bit too blocky in my opinion, maybe smudge it a bit.
On one hand I'd say you could add a bit of more colour or shadows to the trees in the background. Or maybe an interesting light coming from behind the forest, through the trees, but maybe it will take the detail out of the character so I'm not sure.

Also on the robe part, where the portrait is I'd delete the bold light edge on the robe and make it blend better with the background. Maybe a thinner, more faded edge.

All in all a very interesting and beautiful concept

MeteorCat: Hey, thank you for your input! I made all the changes you suggested except for detailing the trees, and that's only because I didn't want to draw any attention from the character. Thanks again!

School has been sucking the life and creativity out of me. Summer is how many days away?

Rough sketch. Just getting the anatomy and epic poses down. Armor will come later.

Ven S: Yes, it most certainly does, but I'm finally adjusting to the workload which means more art!

Some WIPs. The first one I may finish, the second one most probably not, and the last one is a cover for my novel. I've decided to finally try my hand at creating it and having my book self-published once I've polished the actual story. I would absolutely love some critiques and thoughts on this one. I want to make it the best it can possibly be.

Update on the cover. I'm still messing around with the colors and composition, as you can see.

Your sketch book is very nice! Has good variation, and most of these are finished, refined work. Would be nice to see some scribble in here from time to time. After all, this is a sketchbook. I think your strongest point are portraits/heads. They have solid brushstrokes and construction. But some lack atmospheric composition, so work on the lighting more perhaps. Or don't goi into fine details in one place, but at first try establishing the overall mood, see if anything needs tweaking. You'll be more at peace, knowing it looks right and you didn't have to overpaint something you're proud of for example.
I really like the scratch marks from post #95. That post is awesome!

BlackDelphin: Thank you! I see what you mean, and I'll try to post more sketches and such.

    oruha: Thanks!

MeteorCat: Thanks, Meteor! It's nice to know I'm missed from time to time haha

So, I finally finished the cover (at least I think so!) and I made a side illustration to showcase the detail of the figure at a larger size.

Awesome sketchbook! That last piece is really nice, though the foot on the left is a bit big and the cracks seems flat on his body. Just something to think about. Other than that it's amazing!

    Keep it up!

    Time to update this thing!

Thank you everyone for the comments/crits! Here's a quick sketch for this week's CHoW and my progress on the cover. I'm sorry I don't have much else to show you. I've been doing a lot of traditional work (graphite and acrylics) lately. Getting my portfolio ready for RISD Pre-college applications

Ridiculous amount of schoolwork. I got a little Moleskine (my first, so excited!) to carry around with me in school and draw whenever I have a spare moment. I've also been doing some acrylic still-lives which I'll post when I'm finished.

Here's two WIPs and a quick graphite still-life. I plan on using the same subject along with some other objects for a more careful study later on.

Hey Thanks to stop by my SB. I gotta say that there are some really brilliant stuff here. Some updates from this page are well composed. In fact it is really the bit that strikes me the most with your artwork, it is how your compose your image, varying with different view angles. To be true, I have no crits to add, considering your age if you continue as good as you are now and take into consideration all positive critics /advise from here ....welll...You know the score!

Beautiful renderings, liking the clean-ness of everything. Not sure how to advise you
further since your clearly painting better than me! LOL
but how about animals and environments??

You've definitely got strong points in lighting, however keep working on anatomy, especially hands and feet.

AdrianNagorski: Thanks! I agree with you, definitely more environments and animals although I'm not entirely a fan of the latter...I guess I can't avoid it forever. X)

    OldOmen: Thank you!

    Izene: Thanks!

Well, today I am officially 17, practically a relic. To celebrate, here's another acrylic still-life.

    Happy holidays everyone!
