first of all: thanks, jester. yeah, it's abitur, here in Bavaria
I'm halfway through now, colloq and 1LK to go. Math was the big fear.
to answer your questions, the boy is not a photo overpaint. I did it, doing a sketch from an older b/w photo of mine (can be found on page1). Then I scanned the drawing and painted it in photoshop. I only saved one time in between, as I had already done the head (almost).
Here's a WIP:
The sp-thingy: you're completely right, I was just fooling around, as I developed the head, actually I was doing it over night from midnight till 6am or something, cause I had to return it on that morning, and at about 3am I had nothing more than messed up, out of proportion shit. As I wanted it to look somehow interesting an happy accident happened, on which I built up and these hornylike things came out. At the end I was not too happy with 'em, esp. how they're connected (or better: not connected) to the hair. Time ran out, I became tired, yadaa.. bad excuse I know, but that's how it happened.
Next sp will be a better one, I promise
Thanks for critics, I really appreciate them.

the pages are in ascending order. last page is from today.
I hope I can keep the updates now at a more regular basis, as I'm heading towards the end of my exams. Please give me C&C, say what has to be said. Seriously, crits are ALWAYS welcome and help me improve.

Damn, I'm a lazy bone.. Had to do lot of vector stuff for the print version of a tshirt logo(our "class of 2004" shirts) was the first time for me, so it took quite long. Anyways I finished up my sketchbook. I'll try and set me the goal to finish the next one faster.
tried different stuff - ballpointpen:
ballpp + colored pencil:
I was on a festival with a lot of children running around, so I had the opportunity to do lifedrawing. However children move evey second. that's why I always got only a short impression and tried to finish it from head and add some stuff..
Would be nice though to hear some c&c from you guys.

if you want a critique id have to say that everything is looking pretty flat - which can be good, but study rendering basic shapes in space and always think about how they can be applied when your doodling. its hard at first but will making your drawing skill very strong.
.Yina, sOltan - thank you guys.
.steak-tron - thank you man, that's a good idea. I'll try and check it out these days.
.insane visions - thanks alot. I tried to work on shading in my recent sketches. Started a new book with anatomy now, but I was on a festival the last days. Not much time for drawing there but I grabbed the pencil every day at least.
1st page, ref from Loomis
2nd - the back view from ref, the front from head, trying to check what I've learned. Did some corrections though, so you don't see the big failures anymore, sorry.
