Its' free and it takes less than 10 seconds!
started a page today.
hope you like it.
I was visting prague in over the weekend, so I had the chance to see the mucha museum. It was a blast. I had to buy a poster in the souvenir shop. anyways, as I was there with my gf and didnt have much time to draw.
here's my stuff:
line exercises - no eraser:
is there anyone looking at this shit? if so please drop some lines, I need some crits or whatever.
here's a quick selfportrait and a flyer I did.
hope you enjoy.
sketching with josefk and others, dolls. here's what I came up with:
I can´t understand why you don´t get any replies or crits. Your stuff is great and you are getting better and better! Don´t forget the basics and work hard on your anatomy. Mach weiter Jeff! Thumbs up!
thanks a lot, robulus. Ich mach auf jeden Fall so weiter. hoff man sieht sich bald!
I met some friends last night and scribbled on while sitting in a cafe..
here we go again. I started to work on the 1st of september, working 8h/day, so I have less time for sketching, but I use the time I find.
here's one of the worst pages I did
- decided to do 90% anatomy studies after that..
so: from ref.
and a selfportrait before I fell asleep:
sketches from sketchgroup, pretty fucked up.
so crit my shit, guys, please.
Great studies man! The selfportrait is really really good dude! Keep going! Im looking forward to ur next update
.Josef - thanks buddy, see you next sketchgroup
nothin big today, just my last night's selfportrait. likeness and values didnt turn out that well, but it took me 15 mins less.. well it seems like I'm sliding into a SPOTD thingie, let's see how long I keep it up.
left out some days.. feeling kinda shitty with my "arts"
well, I just dont have enough time to do my thing. anyways I try hard. and I hope I'm having some progress.. whatever.
I did a lot of selfportraits in the last days, cause mostly when I've got time I dont have a lot, so I do quick sps..
I was in berlin the other day to visit the Moma exhibition and had to wait for 8 hours just to get inside.. w00t! but I had my gf with me, and of course my sketchbook. so I drew my gf and other things, as well as a rembrandt studie, cause we got a flyer with a rembrandt selfportrait on it.
please, guys, tell me what you think bout it.
well, more stuffs.
I feel the likeness of the sps is getting better with every piece.. but hey, I start to talk to myself in here..
prostate sunrise - thanks for your advice and thanks for stopping by.
As prostate suggested, I did more life studies, which means self portraits.
and a non life page, but ref for the girl.
and finally, this is my submission for the ca. shirt contest:
and how I imagined it to be on the shirt:
hope some of you guys like it.
Hi Jeff (though i know it's not your real name, ha!)
I know you are looking for some advice or crits and i think it partially pisses you off that you didn't get many replies yet, but i tell you, you are on your way and it won't take long until you get much more replies...
I think you have a good rendering skill with pencils, but you should take some time to measure during the sketching phase...i can see on your drawings that you get very interesting results when your proportions are right, but destroy a lot if you don't take time to sketch, measure, check the proportions before starting with the shading...
Anyway...hit in!...er...hau rein!
good stuff, your sketches are better with every new post. i really like the shirt design, you ve got my vote.
fozzy - hey, what's up? thanks for your good advice, I noticed myself not taking enough time for measuring, but I wanna eliminate that by doing a lot without erasing or even without lifting the pencil. I think one gets a better feeling for lineweight and stuff on the one hand and on the other hand one is forced to look twice or more to measure correctly before putting down the line. thanks again, I'll try to think of that.
flex - thanks, man. I greatly appreciate that you voted for my design - cool that you like it. your sketches are killer man, thanks for stopping by.
I'm in a hurry today, only got to scan a page from last night, drew my girl from life, something like 15 mins.
some really nice stuff in here and you're making great progress. wish I could render faces that good. keep pushing your life studies! can't wait to see more. I especially like those dolls and the nude renderings.
(I know I should do more anatomy and life studies myself but I revert to nonsense scribbles and cartoony stuff ever so often).
Red_Rook - thanks bro..
jester - yeah, gotta spend some time on hair.. but first things first.
Doktor Focks - thank you man, glad you like my dolls
yo, yo, yo this is hot news. I'll be able to be with all you guys in san francisco. w00T!!! I'm so happy..
hey guys, this is a piece, which I've been working on for some time now, and I'd like to show you some stages of my developement. you already know the sketch, and that's how I worked from that point on.. I used ref for the head of the babie and for the knife. rest is from my mind.
Sorry for the bad quality pics, but the piece is too big for my scanner, might scan it in parts when it's done.
and two detail shots:
I hope you guys can give me some crits on that one. what can be improved?
gimme your thoughts please, I would aprreciate.
Fantastic stuff! and I loved the T-shirt...I thought most of the others were too 'in yer face' personally...
5 star stuff!
You need to do more anatomy...and check your values....wait...did I just say that?
very very solid stuff. alot of progression to some serious work. your on the right track man.
lowpolymatt - thank you very much for your supernice comment. Glad you like my shirt design, but seems like not that much others like it..
crunch - thanks for stopping by, man. hope to you have a look or two in the future..
and thank you all for voting my stuff 4 stars. thats like soo cool. thank you all!!!!
here's more from the WIP, I thought of pushing the piece more in this direction.
What do you guys think, leave it b/w or push it with a discreet oil glaze?
Whow, Jeff, sweet work - that last one is very nice.
The color seems to be a very good start, would love to see it pushed.
And youre going to SF?!? ...uhm......WOW!
Would you mind me hiding in your hand luggage?
aidan - hehe, yeah. bin doch jetzt zivi, daher kohle. cool that you like my stuff. we have to do an OC session sometime, bro. let's talk in ICQ next days..
here's my stuff from today, started to try some oil in my sketchbook, jus to check out how it works.. 't was a lot of fun.. only thing is, that is shines through the pages.. but fuck that, it's fun.
this is a 2 page thing that developed itself last night.
and the usual selfportraits.
still, please gimme some crits on the WIP piece, cause I wanna tune this thing.
work sucks, less time for drawing..
this one's dedicated to andrew jones. kinda reminded me of him when I drew this.
w00t, no time for updating last week, my pc crashed and shit. well..
better ones and more o' the worse
I'm havin fun drawing bigger and more loose, using a double page:
