    Submission work for Scholarship?

I am currently attending Rutgers University, and I am submitting my portfolio to SAIC, Pratt, CalArt, MassArt and SVA... My friend said I could ask the professors of my current school if there is a scholarship program that I can submit my work to get granted for. (The work I will be submitting will be same as the admission portfolio of course).

    Is this common? Thanks

Every school I know of just uses your application portfolio to determine eligibility for scholarships. As for third party art scholarships, there are a couple, but they're very few and far between. Try looking of FastWeb.
