Girl with Gun.... and now Robots (updated 22nd

    Hey guys

Did this character sheet for the guys over at CGChannel.com They are going to release the hi-res PSD with all the layers and stuff on a CD or something.

Anyhoo, its been forever since I have done something I could post.

This is pretty much how I am working up character designs these days. The modellers I currently work with like to see some attitude in the characters. Wackos!

I also have to accomodate for larger polycounts and detail work. Its kind of a pain but the more info I get on the concept the less they have to worry bout it.

Trying to answer as many questions up front as I can.......... uuuuuuuuummmmmm

    -10x8 300dpi
-bout 36 hours (2 full days character, 1 1/2 day gun and border stuff)
    -all in photoshop
-used reference for the back pose (hate drawing the back)

    ok here ya go

Girl with Gun.... and now Robots (updated 22nd

    ----------------UPDATED MARCH 22---------------------

Thanks for all the help guys! Made a few more tweaks. Going to have to call this done now.

Girl with Gun.... and now Robots (updated 22nd

Also have a couple that I found on my harddrive that I thought I would toss on. Just messing around with these. Robots yay!

thats really nice dude. nice to see some new stuff from you.the bordering stuff looks great. it frames it nicely. this is a great example of making a "functional" drawing a work of "art". nice gestures as well. bravo.-c36

    Ack, wardrobe malfunction =D

I really like this piece. The pose and the colors are great, and the design is absolutely engaging.

    I love that gun.

    More, please!

Very nice. Particularly like the gun design & her pose.
Where can I buy a husqvarna like that?

Great stuff Hawkprey. I'd love to be modelling that.

I completely respect your effort to fill in details. Nailing stuff like that in the concept stage can be WAYYYYY nicer then having to fill it in as it's being worked on.

I'm the lead modeller on the project that Blackarts is designing for, and while the guy's art is phenomenal his looseness sometimes kicks me in the ass when our art director tries to fill in the detail as I'm working. And this detail can change from on day to the next.

Alwyas lookforward to see yer posts.

waaaaaa! hawkprey awesomeness!! now i have to go do some! ok, when you say 36 hours, are you including the time that you sat around thinking of the concept for the girl and coming up with prelim and initial sketches, or is the 36 hours just the photoshop rendering? why do you hate drawing the back, it looks so good!!

Good to see you posting again Hawk, its been too long...this piece rocks, you always seem to blend eccentric, sexy , and twisted so well.

do ou ever draw with marker or pencil any more ? or this strictly straight photoshop nowadays?

talk to you on msn man, we need to catch up..:chug:

Lovely. I'd like to see this in blue or green tones as well - it'd probably feel a lot different.

OH SHHEEET!!! BAH! Are you serious?! A red gun?! That is toyt!

I think putting "haracter Model Sheet" is cool cuz im ignant and i assume by "SHeet", you mean shit.

You know what she needs though? Some roses!! Like in the patters or tattood. Anywhere, but i think roses would be a nice touch. Clearly that is subjective, but c'mon dont that sound noice?

Post more often please; i make me want to be an artist when i see your work.

    BLAST ON YOU!

Killer! perhaps, this is a rose tattoo on her butt cheek, nardfrog
The way she's standing there is most arrogant, I dig it, esp. her left hand in combination with her lips, saying smthng like, "a bunch of 100 armed troopers? whatever, come ere and I'll kick your ass!"
    awesome work!

    Jj.
