    My Chicken Scribbles

I'm new here and... Umm after getting my account activated and seeing what I'm up against...

To start off I suck with Human art.
So much I gave up on in years ago.
I'm kinda more of a Technical person
    You'll later see why.

I'm also make drawings by traditional means and I'm interested in using Tablets and Photoshop.
I've been drawing with Pencils for years but since my coloring pencils are not good anymore I'm interested to make the jump to digital content.
Unfortunately it's really hard for me to find an effective tutor since nobody in my country does Photoshop art save for photo-editing for ADDs and billboards.

At first I'm interested in depicting nature more accurately with pencil and I wonder what kind of tips you can give me.
Like making Better clouds or water or mountains with pencil.
But first Off I'm going to show you what I can do.

    Oh yeah About the battleship.
This is a real design from 1917 and you can find info about it on Wikipedia

    Project 1047

    Holland's largest warship ever contemplated.
Designed to protect Indonesia (back then a Colony) from Japanese Cruisers
    Unfortunately Hitler invaded in 1940.

    HMS Incomparable

    Jackie Fisher's masterpiece.
This ship would have been armed with the largest guns ever contemplated for a British warship.
    20 Inch Guns.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Incomparable

This is My take on the HMS Incomparable as rebuilt in service for WW2 with Tower bridge, Dual Purpose secondary guns and newly installed Anti Torpedo Hull Blisters.

    USS Constitution

USS Constitution hit by a Kamikaze off Okinawa 1945

USS Constitution is a member of this class of neverbuilt Battlecruisers.

I just wanted to show this because I need some good feedback in how to make explosions with pencils the right way.

    16 Gun broadside

This battleship is Vittorio Cuniberti's all big gun concept stretched to the max.
It has the ability to lob 16 tons of explosives and steel over the horizon in one inning.
The Russian navy unfortunately found this ship too big for service in the baltic.

Info on this design can be found here
    http://www.gwpda.org/naval/irn16bb.htm

Can anybody give tips in how to make better explosions?

    HMS ST. Patrick

Another of my fav Battleship Design.
a 48,000 ton behemoth armed with nine 18 Inch guns.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N3_battleship

This class (N3 Battleship) and it's Battlecruiser counterpart (G3 Battlecruiser) are sometimes referred to as the British Cherry Trees.
    Why?
Because these designs were cut down by the Washington Naval Treaty of 1921
    the end result is this:

    K3 Battlecruiser

In my opinion the most awesome Battlecruiser ever designed for the Royal Navy.
She would have been armed with nine 18 Inch Guns and displaced around 53,000 tons empty.
Unfortunately she would have been bigger than Titanic and only one dock in all of Britain could have contained her.

    Winston Churchill's Pet Project

This was one of the concept Winston presented to the Royal navy before he became Prime Minister in 1940.
He wanted to bring back not only the Heavy Cruiser but also the old 9.2 Inch gun last mounted on any British warship before WW1 broke out.

There was just a little Problem.
The cost to reactivate a dead gun.
One estimate was the it would cost as much to build 2 Vanguard class Battleships as building 3 of these Heavy Cruisers.

Would have been an Impressive Cruiser nonetheless.
HMS Collingwood is seen here shelling Normandy with a reconstructed HMS Hood in the background.
Doing the Camouflage was an eyesore.

    HMS Malta

Worst Case Scenario in Weather forecasting.

This would have been Britain's Biggest Aircraft Carrier to fight the Japanese.
She would have also been the most heavily protected too.
    HMS Malta is evading Kamikazes.

    HMS Audacious

Okay so this illustration is fictional.
    But design 16 D 38 isn't.
It was one of the prelimenary design studies that led to HMS Lion.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lion_class_battleship

16 D 38 would have been armed with 12 x 16 Inch guns and at 48,000 tons would have only managed a top speed of around 26 knots using 100,000 HP engines.

The British admiralty deemed 16 D 38 too big for the naval docks so the design was downsized to 42,500 tons which is now known as HMS lion.

This illustration is the result in how the British may have acted when specs of the Yamato became known (That's if WW2 didn't start in 1939).

I played around with the battleship calculator Springsharp and came up with this Beast.
I inflated 16 D 38 with another 10,000 tons to gain more speed (from 26 to over 30 knots @ 180,000 SHP), better protection and superb ship qualities...and not to mention an increase of action radius.

HMS Audacious would have been overkill for Bismarck and she was built primarily to safeguard British posessions in the Pacific.

HMS Audacious is seen here as part of a taskforce to hunt down Yamato or a sister ship.
Boy this Brit sure got Balls.

    Vittorio Cuniberti

This ship is based on a Italian design study during WW1.
Had she been built she would have ruled the Mediterranean.

    The FUHRER

    This is an interesting drawing.

It started with the discussion in one board like:
What kind of battleship is required to arm it with this gun?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schwere_Gustav

    The Result is the FUHRER
    A 700,000 ton Navigational Hazard
(I put in the wrong tonnage in the pic)

    Hiraga's Battlefleet

Some ships Drawn up by admiral Yuzuru Hiraga.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yuzuru_Hiraga

The only Japanese design I know of that adhere to the Max Limit imposed by the Washington Naval treaty of 35,000 tons.
