    My57 - College Years! (LoL)

Ahhhh... So because of college I haven't been able to update so much anymore. That being said I have decided to start a new Sketchbook! Why? Because it's easier to organize my progress. But anyways this thread will continue until I get out of college (hopefully after 4 years if I graduate) and then I will start a new thread after that.

So this probably won't be updated a lot. Probably only on the holidays and in between my summer break (that is 4 months long????!!!!).

K, just as a personal reminder for when I look back I am 19 as of now(December 19th/2010). <- I like looking back at old stuff so this will be fun after 4 years hopefully. Maybe....

    So ya. I'm back!

Oh I'm so tired of this portrait I've been doing. Must have worked 5 hours or something on it already. I give up. Seriously XD To much work for a skin tone study for me. I got obsessed over this and it's time to stop.

Tomorrow I shalt do something fun! Like... Who knows...

how shall people help you with criticism, when you put some oranges over the problems?
especially when it sucks hard, itīs easier to give suggestions

So here is my first attempt do paint one of my characters I made in my (RL) sketchbook! I had to change the head a ton of times because it didn't look as cool as it did in pencil --- So obviously I didn't put a lot of effort into the pose. It was a really small sketch and such. No room for legs

Pure imagination, no refs used. - I didn't focus on anatomy just trying to make it look bad ass

Hmmmm may go back on him later. Brighten up certain area's.

love the first study, on top! great work! i agree too, faces are hard to paint! this last character looks like his anatomy is a bit forced, he looks a bit too much like a cylinder. try to give him some more contours to his body, some sharper angles to give him more mass.

Soooo I is working on a new portrait. But I'm a little embarrassed to show the process work at the moment. So here is my angel character I've been working on. Portrait will probably be uploaded Friday since Thursday I'll most likely be busy.

You will make a four year lasting sketchbook?
    Sounds like a great idea.
I am excited and hardly can wait to
    see your further progress.

It seems like this last angel painting
has some 'Grim Fandango' spirit in it.

Thanks for the paint over I see what ya mean, but I think I may keep him the way he is To much work to fix and it wasn't an anatomy thingy >.> - However I'll keep that in mind next time if I decide to do another little human creature paint.

I know what ya mean Kung and I did exactly that

    - STILLLL NOOOOOT DOOOOONE!!!!!!! OMMMM NOM NOM NOM!!! Im gonna snap. But I'm almost done. I'm not going to do so much more on it now. Just get the skin, her right eye, and the mouth more complete. Photo realism is not my thing. To heart breaking. Btw whats a good blur brush? That doesn't add colour. I'm using Painter.

    hey there,

Despite the anatomy errors last piece looks nice mate. I like the skin tones you have used here. More contrast between shadow and light would add more realism. Also i think you could push the highlights little more. Just a thought.

about the post #3 : Its pity you gave up and decided to put two copper coins on her eyes, when she was starting to look good. if i were you, i would finish it and call it a day.

Well, keep up the good work mate. I suggest you do some more anatomy studies and photo reference work. You'll definitely benefit from that.

Bro.. awesome paint so far.. know what you mean.. realistm can occasionally be heart breaking.. =)

Mmm.. hope you don't mind, did a bit of little paint.. lol.. thought you maybe lost the innocent girly look imho.. like the sky colour I thought contributed a lot to her innocence and it started to look a bit muddy imho. =) Also tried to work on her little cheeks a bit, anyway.. just had fun.. maybe you will hate it.. lol..

Have fun finishing bro. =) You ROCK! =)
