First post ever:
Glad that I can finally post something here. Appears to be a great community. I have been flat out with architecture school but now I am on break.
I've been working on this drawing for a while now and hoping to eventually give a stab at painting it with my Wacom tablet.
I see some things that need adjusting and fixing as well.
I am trying to give her a look of royalty with a twist.
Any and all crits welcome of course.

Looking very good. Very impressed with the amount of detail in this piece. Can't wait to see the final drawing. Hope to see more from you soon.
Thank you for the comment. Yeah, the crown is taking a lot longer than I thought, well actually the whole drawing is taking longer than I thought.
I plan to get back to it today and hopefully get some more done.
That's a great opening for your sketchbook (you know that you can and should post here your studies, doodles and sketches rather than creating new topic for every one of them?). Details on the crown are impressive, and theres pretty nice rendering, but I think that her eyes are slightly odd.
Thanks for the note Vumi. Yeah I think I know what is wrong with her eyes too. They are tilted oddly, maybe and I think the one on the right is higher than the left. The hair in front of the eye on the left makes it harder to pic out the problem.
the latest version of this drawing. let me know what you think.

Here is me, making a effort to draw everyday from now on, so as to develop my skills.
I stopped drawing a lot once I got in university and now, I am realizing just how much I missed it.
The first image a reference was used.
I plan to take the SpadeHead (last image) to some sort of finished piece as well. Any thoughts on her would be great.

No, I don't usually add colour. I'm not much good at it. I have been doing some research into it though lately. I hope to start using colour more so that my drawings can stand out better.
Colour is a hard thing to do well I'm finding.
Thanks for the note.
Wow, incredible pencils! It must take so long to be so precise I admire your patience. A couple of constructive tips, i think your work could be more dynamic if you up the contrast or play with the levels of your sketches so we can see all the nice detail sharp and crispy. Also since your works are scanned in taking them to colour can be fun, because you dont have to worry about making mistakes.
Yeah, I think that you are right. Some of the images I have posted are a little on the faded side. Next time I post I will try a coloured version as well.
I see that in your sketchbook you just add colour over your drawings, looks good. Great work.
Thanks for the message.
I must admit that this was a little Tron inspired. I hadn't intended that at first. I wanted to draw a girl in a racing looking suit but started to look at Tron images for inspiration.
Feel like some of the proportions might be a little off but overall I think that it turned out well.
I'm trying to break the habit of always wanting to polish off a drawing which started as a sketch. Sketches have so much more energy to them as well.
I've seen lots of people paint the values of their image first and then colour it.
This isn't the prettiest picture but figured I'd throw it up there.
This is my first attempt to do this technique. I'm using the sketch from 2 posts ago.
Any thoughts on the execution?
Great drawing man!!Keep posting!
Here's my first go at painting the Queen Portrait image I drew a while ago. There are so many things wrong with this but I would still like to hear people's thoughts.
The close up of the eye is a tutorial that I followed from Linda Bergkvist on a CGtalk forum.
This painting was done before I painted the black and white Spadehead image, therefore was done with colour from the beginning.
I hope to post again soon.
I have been painting other small things other than this. I just thought that this one was the only one worthy of posting.
I believe I should move onto a new painting and leave this one alone for now.
I am still trying to figure out how to properly paint using a value layer with multiply and colour layers. 'tis tricky.
By far one of my favorite video game characters.
Did a pencil sketch first. I think the final version will be more like a coloured line drawing. I find this image has a much better look to it with the pencil drawing overlaid. Gives it a more dirty energetic look.
the eye looks flat to me. there shud be more shading below the tip of the eyebrow to suggest deep eye sockets, research bone structure of the orbital!

Here is a link to the competition gallery:
I've named it Tsetse which is the word for a type of biting fly. "...They live by feeding on the blood of vertebrate animals" Wikipedia
Any comments are welcome.
The latest installment in my Samus Aran painting. I am attempting to paint a background for her as well. But I don't know when I will get that done because I have never done a background before. So instead I decided to just post Samus by herself.
