    Profiling Artist

I'm kind of curious what makes an artist and artist. So, provide a list of hobbies other than art, maybe we are more similar than alike.

    My hobbies:
    Fish keeping
    Collecting
    Researching about stuff
    Mushrooms -came after researching stuff
    Books
Computers <--- this is my number 1 hobby

"Everything must serve the idea. The means used to convey the idea should be the simplest and clear. Just what is required. No extra images. To me this is a universal principle of art. Saying as much as possible with a minimum of means."

There's something menacing sounding about the one word description of "collecting" as a hobby. . .

I mean, that could mean Hummel Figurines or victims' jewelry!

Each kinda creepy in their own way.

I think you've just written a zen koan there...

Can one be alike but not similar?

My hobbies include biting sarcasm, chasing contractors for debts, and Ozarks yodeling.

I collect finger puppets of the damned.

Seriously though, there's no 'profile' for an artist, beyond someone who likes to work in a creative medium. I know couch potatoes, extreme snowboarders, musicians, gamers, hermits - all equally talented, and running the gambit of hobbies.

(The only constant is someone who constantly refers to themselves as an 'artist' and has to wear the right uniform is usually a douche more interested in the idea of a scene than actually creating anything.)

    Now go draw.

For a moment there I thought this was going to be a spectacularly informative thread on artists who do criminal profiles from eye witness testimonies.

    /\ lol

I'm wondering what the 'mushrooms -came after researching stuff' means...Just because I tried magic mushrooms once and the world turned into a plastic wrapped cartoon which I found hilarious, I like that kind of research.
