    Apprentice/Master in the year 2004

Do masters still take on apprentices in this day and age, N.C. Wyeth / Howard Pyle style? I think that is the next step I would like to take with my art education, but I am unsure of where to look for this kind of thing. If anyone has any information in this regard, it would be much appreciated; stories, info, advice...

I think it's still going on in some form or another. Check out MindCandyMans recent post here: http://conceptart.org/forums/showthr...&threadid=7216

It's not a true apprenticeship, but looking at Panturas site, it seems very apprentice like. (2 artists, no more than 5 extremely dedicated students, etc...). I think a lot of artists now a days teach in group settings like Ateliers and such and then perhaps form closer bonds with promising students they meet there.

Of course, this is all speculation based solely on what I've read here and there. I haven't had any experience with many art professionals.

yeah man, I saw that, thanks for the heads up though. I've definitely been eyeing that thread. Was hoping to get some other input from various sources, most likely professionals...
