Don't worry about details. Get the values down first in big broad shapes and the details will begin to form themselves. It helps to squint or blur your eyes to see if the painting overall matches the reference. Gogogo.

Your brushwork on the first page is really good. Will be fun to see how you develop. =)

    Thank you spraix
(Even though I'm not completely sure what you're talking about... ?)

Ok ok ok so this one right here is a attempt of doing something simple with color...but I think I brought out the tones a tad too much. :I
All attempts of color before had failed so I just scrapped them, this one is just a stepping stone (hopefully ).

Thank you for dropping by my sb. Your studies are looking good. Values are pretty good and your colors are coming along nicely as well. I like the brush texture in post #16, I'd like to see more of those. Keep it up!

hi hi, i haven't posted here because mostly I've been doing are those accuracy thingies and I feel like it would get repetitive. :I plus I've been super super busy this week so I didn't have time to draw much!

so anyways here is half imagination half ref for today.

    Nyoron's Sketchbook Thread

Rustveld thank you so much for dropping by! Ok, I will

eyes still somewhat baffle me for some reason...but I've been coming along better with them as of lately. the photo didn't show the iris, only the shading so sorry if it looks like that

    Good luck with your work!

Anatomical studies are hard, but they pay off eventually! That's the theory anyhow.

Hey Syrella! Thanks for commenting. Yes, I have studied anatomy but I forgot it, but I learned the most important thing ever! Forms! It really helped me in the long run afterwards. Plus learning all those muscles is kinda irritating when you forget them the next day.

    Nyoron's Sketchbook Thread

This is just something relaxing I did this morning. Started it as a color but then just made it b/w because it got heaps complicated.

Yaaarghh color I will discover you soon.

You are working on the right stuff. You are becoming more confidant in your strokes. The last one and the landscapes above it are going in the right direction. Continue adjusting the shapes of color and how they interact with each other and you got it. Keep it simple and clear. Maybe do some more gestures like the ones in #34. There r some good websites like characterdesigns.com.

    Thank you!

I did gestures today, but I didnt want to upload because they get repetitive...thats why I barely upload them here....

Also I feel a bit more comfortable with this now. I'm going to attempt a full on enviro next time....hehe...

Hi guys. I've been very frustrated at doing this art thing, so I've been drawing here and then traditionally on a sketchbook following tid bits of bridgeman. My art class made us draw portraits of ourselves using a mirror so that was nice...I didnt expect that at all...

I felt guilty not updating this so here you go

    Nyoron's Sketchbook Thread

Also yeah I couldnt do the environment...I tried many times but I took a break for my sanity. sorry about that.
