    A sketchbook

Hey guys and gals, I live in CO. I am here to draw! I have a Regents Bachelor of Arts degree from my University in northern, WV. I am a dude with a passion for art. I love every bit of it.

A fresh start never hurt anyone, so I am here to find inspiration and the encouragement that comes with seeing all the other awesome art people do.
Please comment and critique. I want to learn.

I am most comfortable rendering in pencil but i want to improve on what I already know and I will start with these.

Things are looking really good, welcome to CA. A few things i can critique you on, with the most recent sketches her legs seem to be getting smaller the furthur along they go, and the head seems a little large. Other than that you're shading and detail for light seems great. Oh also is she floating? I think she needs something to ground her.

    Keep it up!

thanks for the note. good start to the sketchbook, i hope you stick with it. what can i tell you... try to get wider range of tones in there. i find creating value with a pencil really hard. try a bunch of different stuff. like using a neutral toned paper. that'll get you a nice even midtone before you even start.

Hi there! Some stuff I'd suggest is to try not to outline everything. You're flattening all of your hard work! If you really must outline, at least put some tone in the background to help your object pop. Some practice in texture would help also, you have a good grasp of shadow description, but you're missing a lot of the middle tones, making your sketches pretty contrasty, and I think you're overlooking the sensitive differences in surface. Keep on truckin!

nice range of values mate (perhaps they can be pushed a bit more as the above have mentioned)~ i have to agree with jaunay on grounding the first figure, she does look like she's floating xD-- anyway keep it up! and pick up a few anatomy books (loomis/bridgman/hograth) that's always the common advice you'll find here on the thread. i believe you can find their .pdf files easily with google

    Hey bro

Welcome to CA! Your lines and shading are pretty good already, mmm.. I wouldn't like to crit your work just yet, maybe just practice and have fun with your drawing for the moment, that's what I do anyway. =)

Keep well for now bro. =)

Keep posting man! You'd better have lots of sketches to fill this when you get back.

Sorry, I've been away on a Journey for a long time. I don't know where to start again.
