im guessing you mean you are in an upper layer and lock transparency right? so color wont scape the sides, use cover gel mode in the layer edges will keep kid of wet so it wont turn out white, just remmber they have to be really opaque if you want to color on top , cause when the opacity its not strong enough seems like a chep multiply, i recomend you to experiment until you get the result you want.

There are no such things as bad art, just tight deadlines.

Did you also check off "Pick up Underlying color"?

Hello I have the same problem. And Ive tried everything but not found any solution.
For example: If you make a selection in a new transparecy layer. Paint inside the selection. Then Use some blender brush. If you spread the blender from inside to outside the selection it works fine, but if you spread from outside the selection to inside ... WORKS bad. It seems like if the blender takes picture from outside the selection and spread inside.
Ive tried blocking transparency with the same result.
    Any solutions?
    Sorry for my poor English.
