ConceptArt.Org Member Award Categories? Any input?

We are going to be doing awards this month for those who deserve them. I wanted to build a list of categories with your input of course. Lots of times people here know who is behind the scenes making this place great even before I do so if you have ideas on categories that would be great.

    For example:

    Most valuable mod
    Funniest mod
    Fastest progressing member
    Friendliest Helper
    Most inspiring
    Best teacher
    Most giving
    Leadership
    Class Clown
    Most Likely to Succeed
    Most Creative
    Best Designer
    Best Character Artist
    Best Illustrator
    Best Fine Artist
    Best Creatures
    the CA Muse
    Most motivating
    Most caring/giving

Those who are awarded need to be active nowadays as I want this to be for those who make CA what it is now, and for those who are giving the most right now, or doing the best etc...

    Thoughts? Ideas?

Prizes can and may include downloads, streaming classes, VLP memberships and TAD classes.

Thanks to Vulgar for the push on this too. I have been meaning to do it and your reminder was great timing. Thank you.

    Jason

I think instead of fastest progressing member we should award the person most dedicated to progress. Not everyone improves at the same rate, and the real test is strength of will. Of course it doesn't hurt to reward both too!

I think if CA.org was gonna do this every year or something, a category for "most improved character artist" or "most improved sketchbook" might be cool.

Maybe it could be awarded through the sketchbooks section and people nominate the most improved for various categories and ppl vote. It might help fuel motivation throughout the year to keep learning/improving and give recognition to those who deserve it.

I think everyone knows who Mindcandyman is, it'd be nice to find more ppl like mindcandyman to fuel inspiration and motivate to improve.

    What's the leadership award?

what about adding Best Comic book Artist? Best newcomer?

I like this one: "Most Likely to Succeed" (in the real world?)

    Joking:
Best Fine Artist, what about Best Rough or Coarse Artist?

I second the vote for Ilaekae and Elwell as funniest mods

What brings me back to this site again and again are the sketchbooks so a 'Best Sketchbook' category would be good also 'Most likely to Succeed' so I know who to bug with questions (just kiddin)

I would highly recommend Digihamid for "Most Memorable Post" and maybe even "Greatest Revelation on Art".

Seriously though, as members go I think Dreamsorceror deserves some kind of award or recognition - his artwork is not only astonishing, his output consistent and his dedication and range immense but he does all this labouring under a disability. I vote Dreamsorceror for Most Inspirational Member.

    Also ELWELL

Hmmm, maybe a 'Best Overall Contribution'?

'Best Post' would have alot of interesting contenders too.

I like this idea. Especially best SB, best tut and most improved. Most improved would be a tough one though, but that's what CA is all about.

I'm not sure if this is the best way to call it, but "Most informative post"? Maybe "Best kick-in-the-ass post" , stuff like what Noah posts.

On a more serious note Dreamsorceror for creating astonishing works both in sculpture and graphite regardless of his debilitating condition. Genuinely an inspiration.

how about " God amongst men" (just a proposal ^^)...for Android, Daarken, Ruan Jia, noximad, mike butkus and all the other guys that clearly are leagues apart from the average Conceptart.org consumer ^^

oh and maybe you should implement a function (or a subforum) to sort them into groups and to search these groups so that after a few years one can look through all that got awarded "Most Creative" or "Best teacher" that way you would create a massive database that allows to quickly get a massive amount of knowledge and inspiration in the field of interest and one would not have to bookmark every SB or every person he/she wants to stay updated on or browse through all the forumpages that are not of interest to them just to find what they actually want to see.

oh and maybe you should think of a system to award posts/threads that way you could easily award a very good thread something like " good teaching" and it will automatically added to the corresponding subforum and/or search mask.

    so long
    Seb
