Futurepoly and Gage! Futurepoly for digital stuff, Gage for more fine art stuff.

I'm actually taking classes at Futurepoly right now (and have been doing life drawing/traditional stuff at Gage for the past few years). They're both about as good as it gets in the NW.

I'm moving to Seattle in 6 months and those are the exact two schools I've been looking at for getting my art-ass in gear.

I'm thinking about the Gage atelier, which is full time for 35 weeks, to build up my foundational skills. Would it be a good idea to simultaneously take digital classes at Futurepoly? Or should I hold off and get my general foundations hammered away at Gage before delving into digital?

    Thanks for the reply.

I've also taken a course at Futurepoly; I took a class from James Kei, very chill and educated guy. It was a good class and I learned quite a bit, even though most everything in the class was way beyond my skill level.

Unfortunately, I think I did a really shitty job of phrasing my original-post's question: I was more-so looking for sketch groups, community classes, things that people put together themselves...critique groups and things of that sort.

There used to be a section on this site for people to hook up to draw together in their areas... ah, it's a Lounge sub-forum. Here's a direct link to the Seattle Sketchgroup, which is actually stickied

It looks like it's a bit in disarray - people are trying to get it moving again. You could certainly give them a boost.
