    Image Hosting Sites

Just a thought, maybe at the top of this forum or on the FAQ it would be good to have a quick tutorial on how to post images, and a list of hosting sites for people to choose from? I notice these things get asked alot (and now I am looking for another hosting site since I found out Photobucket only allows 20 pictures at the same time...). Anyway, at least for the benefit of this thread, could somebody suggest a free image hosting site? also, I'm going to experiement with hosting images off of my own site here, just ignore this picture if it shows up.

I just signed up to Photobucket to add my avatar (I'll post some drawings soon). I got the impression that you can keep about 2000 images/pictures in your account. Isn't 20 the maximum number of images that you're able to upload at a time?

Being a cynic, I wonder why image hosting sites are offering their services for free! With particular reference to Photobucket, I haven't seen the website saturated with ads...

Photobucket is utilizing the Google G-AD service where you get 1000 megadollars per view.

    sorry...couldn't resist

I think the best thing to do is to get a free webhost for your portfolio and use it to host your pictures too...some free webhosts allow many gigs of bandwidth. Just search for free webhosts on Google or check out http://www.thefreesite.com/ for some free webhosts (Its on the bottom of the page under "webmaster resources")

The problem is that many of those host's dont allow hotlinking. And I remember that you must post a picture if you dont want your thread closed, same with linking to the portfolio.. not really sure.. check out the rules for that

Yeah, that happend to me once!!

    BUT

Now that I found www.imageshack.us I've never looked back. It's the BEST, you just upload the image click on copy to copy the image (with img tags and all) and paste that in your post! It's so easy a monkey with brain damage can do it : ) lol

Give it a try, you will love it 4eva!
