    Alien Head

Ok so my roommate came into my room and saw what I was doing and asked me, in a totally serious tone..."Why did you put a vagina where the mouth should be?"Ha Ha! I laughed so hard I almost fell out of my chair!

Not really much story behind this one. I just started with black silhouette and gradually built up the light, then did skin tones and last was the little sparkle flakes in the skin (thought that made it look more...Galactic, I guess). then added a space bg that I had made previously.

    Thanks for taking a peek!

    Hi Cretorian

Did you use a some sort of mirror tool for these?

Yeah you make a poly plane in zbrush hit x (x symmetry) and paint grey tones in rgb mode. No geometry sculpting I learned this technique from the latest Neville Page/Gnomon DVD. Check it out!

These aliens are too "alien" looking. And the "mouth" on the first one... Not recognizable as any known organ. Beautiful space backgrounds, textures, colors, and lighting.

I think they are absolutely BRILLIANT!

And Dahami, who are you to say what HIS alien should look like. It's IMAGINATION... anything is possible! "Not recognizable as any known organ." It's a freaking ALIEN! It shouldn't be!!!

The eyes are too human, the rest of the face too alien (like... What is that?). It is a striking juxtaposition, if that's what you're going for. Technically, great job.

I must confess I like aliens with recognizable parts, but not too human looking.

Well thanks for the comments guys and gals! I appreciate it.

Dahami: I really cant help what these things turn into. The purpose of the technique is to create something without intention. I basically just make a Rorschach painting and add volume to it. I could just as easily do a human face but then I would be somewhat constrained to the anatomical make up. Tell you what though, the next one I do will be a real classic "Communion"/"Grey" type alien for ya buddy

Cuptow555: Thanks for the compliment duder! Like I said I want try and get a new one of these a day up on the board so stay tuned!
