    A lesson i have learnt

Something that i have recently discovered to do with art and design. Recently i have been working none stop on my projects for my course. I find my self hitting walls of idea blocks and this in turn frustrates me. Then i,ll start sketcheing something totaly unrelated and find that i really like it. The lesson being that it is important to have a personal sketche book as well as seperate books for course work.

    Has anybody else experienced this?

i don't really have a 'class work' sketchybook anymore since i'm just taking 3d classes now. but for a while i was in a big slump - totally burned out from life and work [which is art-related] and school and i decided to start a journal, which had graph paper in it, so there was the possibility to write and draw, too. also kept notes and numbers. i had never kept a journal before, it was a great experience. here are a few pages:
    then i started actually drawing:

i highly recommend this. not only keeping a journal but having one to draw in, to keep with you daily so you scribble your everyday throughts in it, or just notes.
