    Silent Shadows

This painting is based on a sketch I did 2 years ago (http://www.andreasrocha.com/gallery/...into_light.htm). I wanted to give it the same degree of finish as my previous painting "Warm Mist".
I leave a suggestive title hoping that you make up your own story behind it...for me it could be a party of deadly warriors silently emerging from the morning mist about to suprise the enemy.
Again, Peder Mork Monsted was a great source of inspiration.

noice, really dig the trees you do. they have a wimsical style to them, but don't hinder the painting being to unrealistic.

I wish the fall off on detail wasn't quite so instantaneous. You go from super-rendered rocks to complete silhouettes really quickly. Aside from that, it's a really gorgeous image.

nice work mate! Great flow in the image. Love the cold colors in the fg vs the warm in mg/bg If you want some crits iīd say as above mentioned.. The foreground is beautiful and taken care of really nice if you just could blend it together better with the characters the depths would be so much better more details on some of the riders closer to camera.. Also I can tell that you didnīt use any reference for the trees or in that case not enough with different once i think some of the trees look to similar.
Again just some quick thoughts nothing is bad with the image at all, just my thoughts of how it could improve mate

    Keep sharing

Yeah man this is great. I agree the detail drop-off is too harsh. But you set yourself up for an easy solution. The riders are in the mist, kinda far away, and theyre backlit. That means you need only a tiny bit of detail to make them look detailed. Throw some glinting chainmail and arbitrary texture on them to make them look congruent with the detail in front. You can even add a layer of fog to knock down the detail in front.

Once again the detail on the ground is fantastic. Just freehanding it in photoshop or what

Wow I really like this. The only thing that bothers me very slightly is that all the riders (pretty much) are wearing cloaks.
