Notes on this round: Absoloutely no one followed the breif in that they had both pics and written outline. Technically all of you could be disquallified, but that would just suck if I did that.

I voted for JanJaeger. Why? Because you all REALLY need to read briefs before starting something like this. There is only one of you with a car in the image at all. Hence, my vote. Sorry to be cruel, but if a client asked for this to be designed...they be ticked off by the fact that you completely ignored their directions.

I have to disagree with you here darkwolf. The part about not sticking to the complete brief is correct but only to the extend Pixie Trick points out.
It only says as requirements to have:
"a) pictures or any other reference material used of the original car" and, what ALL of us missed:
"b) a written summary describing which features you felt were most integral and how you adapted them"

The pictures themselves seem fine to me, some sticking more closely to the original car design than others.
This is however a "RE-design" challenge. To me that means not just having it look exactly like the car with wings attached. And I don't think that this was, what the possible client you mentioned would've wanted to see.
I'm not trying to defend my own design here, as I'm definately the one who may have strayed off a bit too far from the "recognizable origin"-part.

What I was trying in particular was taking single features of my car of choice and then have them reappear in a hopefully believable flying craft.
In particular I was thinking about the general bulky look, 4wheel-4rotor aspect, rounded edges, long curved front window, the cross on the grill/window and wooden-looking planks on the side.

I do NOT want this to be a late addition to my entry, we all missed to write that in time, but I think that the designs are more or less correct, not just JanJager's.
(Btw I voted for you, too . mostly because of the red one with the wing strap-on. Even after reading the whole misunderstanding in the wip-thread I thought this was a great idea and well executed. I like it better then the pink one in front which i find way more uninspired compared.)

Anyway I'll read the brief more closely next time, as a written summary would have really been necessary here, sorry Pixie

Your task for this week is to redesign one of the following vehicles as a plane. The plane must be recognizable as originating in the design of the car.
I agree with Monotony... The quote above, from the brief, states "a plane". Not to LITERALLY turn a car into a plane, but to design a plane based on a car, clearly showing the origins of its design elements.
