Thumbs down Why is this site so user-unfriendly?

The design of this forum could use some work.

    1) Whoever picked this puke green color, and brown text was obviously blind. As an art forum, having images put up against this color is simple crazy.

    2) Every. Single. Page. Has that HUGE banner on top. Web design 101 guys. Really? We have to scroll down 800 pixels to even see the first post.

    3) Please give us the option of using the default vbulletin skin, as that was designed by an artist.

    Gracias.

You really might want to get a new monitor or something.

If you scroll down to the bottom of the screen, there is a drop-down menu in the bottom left corner. There you can choose between a couple different forum styles.

That's the problem with first impressions. You only get to make one.

As opposed to what? As far as I was aware, the current site colourscheme (which is actually an attractive dark papyrus/beige) was chosen and designed by one of the mods, and if the mods here are not artists, who on God's green earth is? Furthermore, the Banner exists as a constant reminder of the artists who have excelled in their medium and have thusly been rewarded with their own spot on the banner. I'm truly sorry if you feel it is too much effort to wiggle one finger and wait a few nanoseconds to see the rest of the page - I have never found it problematic in all my years here.
Finally, coming here as a new user and making insulting demands is unlikely to garner any response outside of ridicule.

I like the color of the website....It doesn't take away from the art. Its nice and simple and fairly easy on the eyes, and it makes CA.org look more unique

Um. Puke green? It looks like brown marble to me.

Also, that's a pretty insulting way of making a criticism of design. Are you trying to say that you could do better, even though you haven't gone out of your way to explain how..?

    This is just embarrassing.

Perhaps you are colorblind. It is more common in males than in females.
on any computer on which I have visited this site, it has always been very light low intensity browns. Perhaps it is your monitor that has trouble seeing the correct colors? In which case I would suggest adjusting your color/contrast settings, replacing the monitor, or stop complaining. I am sure the site designers chose this color scheme to compliment the artwork instead of contrast it. You don't have to have taken ANY web design classes, including web design 101 to know that. All you have to do is have EVER FRAMED artwork. This skill requires one to know that you only mat work/ frame work in low intensity colors to make sure it does not distract from your art. Sometimes even black and white take away from the art. Go take an art 101 class.

Assuming he ever posts here again. As one of the many wandering users with self-aggrandising usernames, no avatar or signature to speak of and a non-existent post count I think we can safely continue our respective lives under the joint assumption "JakeDaGreat" will not be perusing this particular forum in the near future, especially after being exposed as an argumentative and arrogant twat.

I agree...this site sucks as far as user interface. However I have had good luck finding animators on here...but not with manga artists. I kinda wish i didn't exist. Not really worth it. I'm pretty good with computers but this site gives me a headache...

    Thankyou,

I use this color (or a close approximation) for my prepped digital canvas. It's a great neutral color to view artwork. And it's definately not green. It's a warm khaki.
