wow i love those studies, nice balance between smooth and hard edges, and your quite "old school" mood and characters are awesome, the first pin up was really nice too, keep on posting!

Wow! VERY nice rendering of the skin tones. Amazing stuff.

No crits here. Except maybe with the coloured version of the girl with the jetpack - too many colours perhaps?

Anyway, awesome stuff here. Looking to see more!

It's very interesting to see how you work, I love children's faces and hands are well felt contruction and smart, I thought I recognized a study by Norman Rockwell.

Incredible stuff. It would be great to see the process of one of your portrait paintings. Such smooth, thick looking work, it really feels like actual paint, and not digital at all. Do you use painter, or photoshop?

Looking at your sketchbook, I just want to work harder.

    hey thanks very much!

Mokhi- ah thank you! im glad it looks painterly- want to get it as painterly as i can , i'll upload a step by step on my next one for you, yeah i use photoshop, love the brushes and mixing in painter but just find the layout hard to use. ah hey your very talented and i really glad i inspire you to work harder so yeah really go for it and i'm sure you'll develop in leaps and bounds if you try hard! wake up early, feel good and just draw!

antomio- thank you! yeah i really like norman rockwell- so fulll of talent it would be hard not to get inspired by him! keep up the good work!

zou- ah hey thank you, thanks for keep coming back too , yep i use a ref on my practise pics but its important to do both so some of these are ref'd and some aren't - glad you like the tinyalarm, its handy little app! my source of ref is mainly from the andrew loomis book- 'drawing head and hands'- but these hand pics were from photo's of my own- took like 50 pics and am slowly working through them doing 4 at a time.

here's the books (they are free to public domain)- LOOMIS BOOKS

Any type of feedback is appreciated, cheers!

Loving the headsketches and the Bougereau studies. It'd be great if you also did some studies with more extreme values. Skin is such a flexible thing in terms of the range of values and colors you can get. Awesome work altogether.

Hey man, I really love your studies and seeing all your hard work. The funny thing is, you approach learning the same way I do: just keeping throwing it up until something sticks. Well, I'm off to do more studies.

Hey Drawfox I love what you've been doing. I'm a Gil Elvgren fan so I appreciate studies after him. Your Loomis studies are also impressive. I've got a feeling you are going to improve very quickly if you keep this up and I shall enjoy watching your progress.
