Been practicing all day on how to properly do designs in 3/4 view but im still having crazy problems. I can do it on paper ok, but in photoshop i cant seem to get lines straight with a brush that actually looks like ink right? i duno, more practice will help i guess, its so mentally stressful that i start getting so tired. maybe its because im looking at the computer screen for so long i duno.

anyways, i did a lot of these thumbnails. lol i did more, but somehow when i cmd+s, it doesnt RENAME the files, even though i renamed it in save as... so whatever. these are fun bc it doesnt take too much thinking power.

I also tried a painting, but still... once i get to like half way, i cant figure out what to do and all the LAYERS are all messed up i dont even know what to do lol it is also pretty much from book i bought a few weeks ago,"extreme worlds" by Francis Tsai.

why not scan those thumbnails done on paper and execute those in Photoshop?
I tend to sketch better traditionally as well.

Solid progress dude, quite inspiring actually, you show a lot of passion and promise, it's just a matter of time as far as I can tell. After you have done a study try to do one from imagination which will be based on the study you have done this will really teach you tons and put your knowledge to the test.
Don't stop-drawing no matter what just keep at it and you will improve tons more, I'll be around for sure...

Some zombie ideas. I think C) is my favorite so im bout to try and quickly do another line drawing, then render. Also, I believe I found my favorite ps brush today. For line work that is. It's charcoal pencil. I love it. And was also thinking about composition with these. so side ones are looking in, middle looking straight. fat dude in middle, etc. fun stuff

Hey nice sb you got going here, you're definitely on the right track. just keep on doing those studies and keep working and you can only progress and get better.

oh snap! that zombie is ROFL awesome! what an idea zombies make huge robot zombies. you sure have imagination.
The sunset study is decent too, try to use mostly hard round brushes and use the soft ones to add atmosphere in low opacity, you want your paintings to look sharp and crisp and then soften edges when needed not the other way around.

So every night before i go to bed i watch a new dvd from gnomon workshop. I have been doing so for like half a year now. Last night I watched David Levy speedpainting to concept art. I like his style alot, so jus trying a few things with brushes the way he used them. these just sketches. took like 20 for the first, 30 for second. maybe i get better at doing it bc its quite fun.

Yea the zombie machine thing has to be my favourite one from what I've seen.. very cool. I like the people in the window, gives a nice sense of scale.
The recent speedpaints look really cool actually and now I'm curious about this technique you're using.
