Great style. Some cool character design in there too. I really like the panel where she gets decapitated and her head roles away. Well done.

Jack, this is coming along nicely, - I like that you're not afraid to spread your sequences out, smooth pacing of panels, they have a cinematic effect

    "..on the fly" -

You very modestly say you design a lot of stuff on the fly but i think its really cool and original (the flying disk with the ying yang contrail is amazing, as is the giant black floating object in 54...), maybe use some of that for the promotional stuff, as you do very effectively with the chapter headers:

there are 20 zillion cool ways you could do it, not including cutouts and spot_UV or embossed type etc etc but heres some real quick ideas.. im no graphic designer so my fonts suck and i got the format backwards on one of them but you get the idea...

Let me ask you this - if you were illustrating XTIN, and wanted to update 5X per week with tight (not sketchy) art, would you paint or draw?
Thanks Jack, with your work you deserve to make it, - I've always maintained that your stuff should be a tentpole series for Heavy Metal magazine. It's almost purpose built for the job.

5x per week is a back breaking output for me, so i would definitely draw, I'm not very prolific - as long as you're having fun

The current vogue would suggest twisting her torso around so that her cleavage is on display, and pronouncing her bum curvage, - it would make this eye-catching, and you would collect eyeball points, - not my style really, but that's today's reality.
On a more aesthetic level, you could enliven her face, especially the eyes, looking right at the viewer perhaps. And zoom in closer on the face of course.

    Just my 2 drachmas.

    any news from Image?

If you don't want to change the image too much, some small things could make all the difference - make the face totally compelling (you know the classic Afghan girls face staring out from the Nat Geo magazine cover? The amazing eyes?), haunting and mysterious,

the lacerations across her body and limbs also tell a story, - why is she punished/ Is she in some kind of purgatory? Make the lashes stand out with some red, with some slight edge where the light catches them (either raised, like scars, or deep cuts)

Her hair looks way too "rinse and shine" for someone in such a predicament, sitting on a field of skulls, I would mess it up some, not just split ends

I think people react less to monochrome and dark images as a rule, so if you could add some kind of colourful overlay into the picture, not too strong, maybe around the sword, maybe gold or deep red, - some zing, some lustre, and experiment with doing the same on the title, so the whole design pulls together.

If you think the timings ok, contact Image back for an update. Usually editors are snowed under, and they lose track of submissions.

Keep going Jack, there's more, you need to get to the end, or you'll never forgive yourself!
I can definitely see the love you put into this, if you don't get someone to publish it, I'm certain you should do it yourself, (you could get crowdfunding if you haven't got the $$$), that way you keep all the proceeds, and you own 100% of your baby.
