This is especially true for politicians. They always tell us about their goals and never achieve them.

That would make it a bit harder to vote tough.

Are you kidding me? It'd be WAY easier. You'd just vote for whoever had the most luxurious head of hair, or failing that, most convincing hairpiece.

    Hmmm.
I've always found telling someone my goals has helped me achieve them because once I've told someone else, I feel more obligated to actually live up to those ideals/goals I've set for myself (otherwise a friend will call me a slacker ).

When it's internal and I haven't told anyone, I find it easier to shift my baselines and compromise a bit more.

I'm never quite sure about accepting social "science" findings...humans are so wierd and subjective. I wonder how many other experiments are out there that confirm this, and/or give a little bit more long-term data (the data here, of course, being people essentially saying what they "feel"...kinda non-scientific)

Might explain why whenever I post a wip of something I end up not finishing it

But if I tell you I'm gonna slack all day, will that make me do more work because it allready feels like I've been resting?

I think it's like Peter Pan, it doesn't work unless you really believe.
