    Another Thief stealing peoples art.

I dont know if this has been posted already. But this chick, Tasha Yazzie is stealing Nathan Campbells work and posting it on her blogs, deviant art and other places. I find it rather rediculous since she didnt even try to alter the original images in any way. Anyways just passing this along.

Nope. Idiots like this appear constantly. They want insta fame rather than going through years of effort and hard work.

it's kind of weird. assholes like this make a whole portfolio of other peoples shit and even get hired. It's pretty rare, but sometimes it actually works.

I don't understand the process/point though. Could someone explain it to me? This whole concept is just so nuts.

Ok, they get hired thanks to a fake portfolio, what happens then? I suppose if they get paid upfront they can do a runner...because the quality of their work will obviously be far inferior to the super-duper portfolio they had. You can only do that so many times though...

No, they hire a real artist to do the work for them cheap, then they put their name on it, and pass it off as their own.

I've seen it happen twice: A con artist gets hired at a big company on a portfolio full of "borrowed" stuff, manages to dodge handing anything for 2 months, then another month passes by for anyone to realise what's going on and he gets the boot. Since there wasn't some kind of black list at the time, the said dude did the same thing again and got hired at another prestigious studio, dicked around for a few months and proceedes to leak art. I don't know how many times this can be repeated, but it happened.

Second guy got hired, also on a borrowed portfolio, and ended up on a project. The art director who was on vacation during HR interviews of concept artist prospects met him upon his return. The thief proudly showed the content of his portfolio to the DA, who was the ACTUAL author of roughly a quarter of the guy's "portfolio".....

Then I would have asked if I could buy the artworks done by myself, and if he says yes you have him for literally selling illegal material.

So you actually have to be very careful if you sell commisions?
