Second update, think i'm going to trash this one, i learnt that you shouldn't start with a round surface, because it sucks.

Silhouette, made with my own custom made brushes, inspired a lot from Andrew Jones.

    Those guns look great!

For your gesture drawings, try to be a little looser. They look a little stiff. (alot of straight lines/angles)

    Keep it up.

Thanks for the comments, it cheered me up : )

Here is a WIP for a cover i'm working on. It's for a novel i'm writing for a school project called "Quit work, be a ninja".

    Now carry on.

haha "Quit work, be a ninja" sounds cute! But the figure's pose looks a bit awkward

As for your goblin-like dudes, I'd have to say that the left one is far more believable and successful. The anatomy holds up for the most part. There's some definite issues going on in terms of skeletal and muscle structure, but those can be easily fixed in a pretty short about of time. The pose, perspective wise, is a little off, particularly in terms of it's footing, but that too can be a real quick fix. So that shouldn't be too much of an issue in terms of actually figuring it out.It has a nice feeling of depth, unlike the "goblin" on the right. And the pose itself is much more engaging. There's a real sense of menace there. Where as the right "goblin" just looks stiff and lumpy, to be frank.

If you were to touch up the left one more, it would be more success, and boarder on outstanding. And I honestly think that you wouldn't have any trouble doing so with it.

All in all the left one has a lot of potential, which I know that someone with your level of talent can pull off pretty easily. The right one, however, is just really weak on all fronts, which is odd because It looks like you put more effort in the right one. At least in terms of details. You should have put more effort in blocking in the basic shapes and anatomy, before jumping the gun and getting too involved with needlessly complex skin textures and the like.

I think you need to learn how to speedily block in basic shapes and anatomy before diving into finer details, ya know?

It also appears to me that instead of paying any attention to shadows, and light sources, you decided to substitute it for a kind of scratchy, heavy handed skin texture. i know you're more able than that, but you probably just need it pointed out to you before you go back and fix it.

So, yes, you have what might sound like quite a bit of work ahead of you in terms of fixing these two "goblins," but it's in no way beyond your ability. You can do it, and probably without too much real effort on your part. I say this with absolute confidence in you, dude. You just have to do it now. >=P

    Concept: The Tracker
Since death is a busy being, he can't be everywhere at once.
This familiar of his, is shaped to be fast and get through any obstacle
in order to find the dieing person and drag the soul for death to collect.

CoW sketch or personal piece, felt like doing a dragon but i'm not sure if it fits the challenge. And a Pose study from a movie.

Some studies i died while reading an Andrew Loomis book.

And the more i worked on the dragon piece, the worse it got so i decided to put it down
while it has it's dignity left.
