    Dun Doin Dem Doodles

Been haunting the forums for a while but I figured it's time to actually start one of these things 'cause I do indeed need to get better.

22 yr old professional bum currently seeking partner that likes long walks and- err, sorry. Wrong place.
I'm wanting to get into the gaming/fantasy illustration industry. I have my toe in the door but I'm feeling stuck so what better than to sketch and get critique? I am really big on creatures but know I needs to work on my people. And children. I can't draw children to save my life.

This might actually make me draw as I should. And you guys certainly are a -huge- help. Before CA ( 'bout two years ago)- Linkie

Oh and as a disclaimer, my dA account is maurizio-tames, so if anything pops up with that watermark, yes, 'tis me. Just means it's been posted over there.

Eeee, your creature in your last sketch looks fantastic. I love that it's head-flap thing goes up when is surprised.
However, there's something weird going on with the face that I can't figure....maybe place its features on a bit differently? I dunno.

As for the drawing children thing, I'd've suggested sitting at a playground and sketching the little critters gambolling around if there was the incredible risk that one of their parents might over-react and try to tackle you to the ground as you got up to leave.

Try simply picking one up and walking off as though you own it.
Don't worry, you can put it back later (True fact: A child can find its way home despite being seperated from it by hundreds of miles.
    Or was that cats......?)
Either way, I know where your sketchbook is now. Escape is impossible.

Thanks for pointing out the face. 'Tis been tweaked.

I've tried doing that but they keep biting me. I dunno if I'm doing something wrong or what but my arms are -so- sore.

My version of the Sphinx and one of my (many) femme male characters.
