    Minecraft is poison

    I guess making art is hard (surprise!), so I guess I've been sublimating my creative energies (frustrated by my still developing skills) into Minecraft.

    ...it has... consumed me.

    I'm a tweaker and perfectionist, which means that I'm CONSTANTLY WORKING ON SHIT UNTIL either IT DIES or I DIE.

    This is precisely why I can't use Linux. My productivity DIES.

    Observe, the madness:

    I created a fortress out of lava and obsidian. Together with a 100x100 monster/animal farmer. I can sympathize.

    I haven't found any dungeons or spawners yet... then again, I haven't quite mastered how to avoid getting my ass beat by those damn green creepers that explode on contact. Bastards nuked my entire stockpile of coal ;_;

    Yes. I know a lot of art casualties because of this game as well.

    It looks pretty fun though.

    I've been meaning to play that game too, in order to effectively waste my life building something, myself (did want to make a full gothic cathedral with a surrounding cemetery full of traps). Unfortunately, the game won't actually play on my computer - long story short, integrated intel video cards.

    Brilliant progress so far, it really is a lego sandbox for people to play in. I can see why it's draining you.

    Well, with online capabilities coming out, you'll be able to show off your creation, and that'll be quite worth it - hopping all over the place to check out how everyone is dealing with it. Considering how a fair few dev teams are addicted to it, you can expect to see and walk around some pretty badass places.

    You can't even see my submerged mine-cart highway system. It's encased in glass so you can see where you are from underwater.

    My friends keep bugging me to play this game, they have a private server set up and everything. And I'd love to play, but the problem is I'm actually frightened for what I would become if I did start playing... something like this PA comic.

    That is amazing. ;_;
    Only played the game once, I spent an hour making a hut then I remembered I had an essay to do. It is an oddly addicting game though.

    At least you didn't play WoW, got to level 70 on your main and had two other 50s on the same server.

    I regret ever picking up that game. And my armor wasn't that "good" apparently. OUCH.

    Lesson: Play Portal instead. It's short, yet, fun, and if you play for too long you get dizzy from the anti-gravity when doing long-ass jumps. You can also pause/save game. I avoid MMOs like the mothertruckin' plague now.

    Edit: Derp. Minecraft is not an MMO, but I just read on the website that they're developing for multiplayer support.. I was kinda right.

    It's not the multiplay that kills me - I'm addicted to the sandbox. Sandbox games with all their freedom and choices completely suck me in. The fact that I can literally sail off into the infinite distance in Minecraft is awesome.

    I play none of those games.

    They bore me. I like 2D fight games.

    And seeing examples, still bore me.

    RPG Maker, what are you doing?

    Get back to 2D so I can upload more sprites and make horribly broken special attacks!

    I wish the game had siege weaponry so I could make a ridiculous defense grid and then turn the difficulty way up.

    It would be an unholy alliance of my two favorite genres - god games and siege.

    Think more like Sim City and Age of Empires (II, of course).

    Or, hell, The Sims + UT on King of the Hill/siege mode.

    Jesus Goddamn Christ that is beautiful.

    And I thought my multi-turreted sandcastle was something to be proud of (note: building with just sand is a bitch - it doesn't hand in the air like other materials, so I had to put an underlayer of glass for the turrets.)

    Next up: A Bond-villain-esque penthouse within a manmade waterfall.
    My god, it will be beautiful.

    Also, can't wait for the halloween update. WE GET FISH *yay*
