    RULES and submission guides...
    Important please read!

Your sculpture must be your own work, and created for this competition.

Work found to be in previous existence before launch will be disqualified.

You must show evidence of the original reference. I.e show a picture of the comic in which your character appears and give credit to it's creators.

You must take in progress photos of you work and submit at least two for judging.

One of these photos must be of your armature (OR VERY EARLY STAGES) with a piece of fruit next to it.

You must take the following final pictures of your work to submit for judging:

A beauty shot, use whatever methods you wish, think Poster/Box art.

    And against a plain background...
    Front,
    Left Side,
    Right Side,
    Back.

So to clarify you will need to send a total of 7 photos for judging.

Final submissions must be sent to Teamonster by midnight 23rd Nov 2010 London GMT.

I will start a new thread will all the final entries after I recieve them.
You may submit incomplete work, the penalty will be some points deducted.

I understand there maybe special circumstances for certain exceptions to these rules. I will judges these on a case by case bases.

    Tips and FAQ's

If you have a question contact me via email or pm, or comment in this thread and I'll do best to answer it asap.

What should I sculpt? -You decide, choose carefully, while you should push yourself to imrove it's no good thinking of doing a lifesize Hulk, you simply will not finish on time.

Do I have to paint it? -No in short, we are judging the sculpture. However if you feel a primer to unify the piece helps that's okay.

What are the judges looking for? -They'll be looking at a lot of elements that make a piece 'work'. Pay attention to your pose, anatomy and take good photos.

How is it judged? Our panel of judges will score each entry following a score sheet. The winners will be those with the highest scores. Points are awarded for things like,...difficulty ie full figure is trickier than a bust, the base, pose, complexity, submitting correctly and on time.

Where do I post my pics? Start your own progress thread and put CC2010 in the title. I'll post a hotlink to your thread in the entrant list.

Does it have to be the Hero or Villain? - No not necessarily, any character from an action comic is fair game as long as they kick butt

This thread is still a wip but feedback is welcome guys!

Let make this the best comp yet!!

    This should be really exciting!

From what I remember, I think Disney took the opportunity to make him a comic book character. http://www.comicvine.com/darkwing-duck/29-2185/

Hi guys, Yep Darkwing sounds action enough just make sure you can show the comic book he's in.
T'soni definatley kicks some butt, and in a Mass Effect comic so yep she's in, and Buffy too.

Basically Heroes that kick butt, baddies that are seeking world domination type characters.
Film, TV and game characters are fine, as long as they have crossed over into comics.
And yes we need to see a pic of this comic as proof

My regular shop got their once-in-a-blue-moon stock of fimo in, last week. I knew it was a sign.

Now I've gotta go figger out exactly what I'm doing.

    ...which is only my opinion.

Deon- No there's no sign up deadline, but make sure you leave enough time to post the required progress shots before the closing date.

Been lurking for a while now with a box of sculpy sitting on my desk waiting for me to try it out.

    Question for you all....

Do you think it should be open to cutoms or scratch build only?

By custom I mean maybe not using an armature as a starting point. Maybe sculpting over top of a generic toy?

I'm thinking as long as the original toy what ever is completely covered by your additional sculpting it's ok.

Maybe show the difference in score points, bonus points for making you own armature?

What do you guys thinks, what's fairest?

    Let me know asap please

Hmmm - I really think that customs are a totally different medium to sculptures.
Surely using a toy as an armature is somehow very different to customizing a toy, though.

My 2 cents - keep it to sculpture only, because, I would think that judging a custom is a totally different thing to judging an original sculpture.

Plus, I haven't really seen too many custom on these forums, or have I not been paying attention?

p.s - teamonster, you are doing an awesome job on this comp! thanks for all the effort!!
