is that me in the upper right of the portrait pagE? i recognize blackhawk, whitaker, oblio, marko, coro and manley as well...nice work. some of the liknesses arent too strong, but some of them are pretty well carried off.

I self-published a book on the fundamentals of drawing from life.

tagHeuer: I have to agree with you about this being a good match, after looking at your previous work.

jetpack42: yeah that's meant to be you there with Manley on my 1 minute page, trying to get loose, coro and marko took about 5 each and the others god knows.

    Hey paddy1,

Try giving it some harsher lighting and use more angular features instead of the roundness you are giving it currnetly. Sharper, harsher lines are associated with more predatory creatures, usually.

    Hope that helps some.

    Cheers,
    ~Oreg.

I'll give it a go I was thinking of a timberwolf polar bear mix earlier so I'll go and tweak that a bit. Cheers Oreg.

You could exaggerate his jawline a little in the profile, and make it look like he isn't smiling from the front. Maybe make him walk a little more hunched over like he is stalking something.

Cheers for the compliment van, you're right even though realised late that it is a WIP, I've got 4 days, and barely any computer time to fiddle for the drizzledome.

Which would you go for? Any ideas? Anybody?

Wow, its really great to see how this progressed from your first ideas. I reminds me of the wombles, or atleast if you pissed a womble off. I wouldnt even attempt it after seeing this pick. The last changes really have brought it to life and given it great contrast, epic white peaks.

    Keep up the work.

"carterartist: I'm probably the most inconsistant arty person on here, I have no real style, no real ability, and not enough time to improve, but I'll keep on trying."

I hope you didn't think I was trying to be negative. I really like the 3d stuff you added.

this is it the final piece dunno if I'll do anymore to it later, and all with a round brush and a hell of a lot of smudging.

cheers for the reply Madoliane good to know some people still look in here.

Hi I've just looked through your sketchbook and it's really cool just how much progress you've made.

some of the images on the second page really are very good, whatever it is that you are doing, keep it up!

I especially like some of the little thumbnail random alien thingie type heads, and the final polar bear image is really nice.

you've inspired me to get a sketchbook together, someday, when I can work out how, or something.

anyhow, good stuff mate. I like.
