    "Lars" Page One

Well, here's my attempt of the first page of "Lars" Issue 1/2. I have the first issues basic plot in my head. What do you think? What could I do better for this sequence? How are my panels? ANY advice/tips/suggestions are wanted. Thanks for looking.

Also, if you want to know that are in the speech bubbles:
#! "Yo, Lars, Wake up, man!
    It's like one o'clock,
    where are you? Meet me
    at the Patch when you
    wake up. aright? Peace."

    #2 "Ugh..."

    Thanks, peace.

I think it looks great, you could definitely make a good comic with this whole style.

Well, I just got some new markers in the mail. The Cool Grey's are running out. I now have 12 French Greys and 12 Color markers. I'm going to see how it looks in color, maybe only do like a full page shot in color. I might see how it looks if I continue to do Lars in Cool Greys while doin the background in French Greys or something.
Oh I just had an idea. If you notice the Wizard of Oz poster in his room, it's forshadowing what is going to happen. I think when Lars enters the new world (shhh ) it should turn color. A little tribute to the Wizard of Oz as well as forshadowing. I'll see how it goes, after all this is only Issue 1/2 and I will probably redo it once I finish this one. I will probably want to change some panels around when it's done.
    Thanks for the interest

Hmmm, this is what it might look like if I did the backgrounds in French Greys

do you think he would stand out too much? Would I do all the other characters in French Greys as well? Maybe in color? What is everyones opinion. I know you have one. Anything will help. Thanks, peace.

    Thumbs up

Well, if you're planning on doing a little Wizard of Ozing, it might be nice to use the all cool grays for the "real" world, and do the cool vs. french for the "surreal" world. I think that last panel has a sort of surreal quality...it pops him out and puts the rest of the world in a sort of dreamlike quality compared to Lars.

So, if you're planning on keeping it B&W, I think it is definately working for you to use the french gray background for the "other" world. But I'd keep the real world all the same.

Looking forward to seeing some more experimentations.

I agree with fukifino, the colour change could work for the Oz dimension, because it really does make Lars stand out.

I'd definitely keep away from mixing the warm and cool greys for the real world though.

    Hope that helps.

Oh. Very good idea with the french greys as the oz world backgrounds. That way it shows how he's so different from that world as well.
Damn, I need to buy some more Cool Greys, a lot of them are running out.
Anyways, thanks a LOT for the suggestion, I will most likely be using it
