At first I was like, woah at the amazing cinematic movement... And then I scroll down to find amazing pencil drawings, and then I scroll down some more and find amazing, realistic colour paintings.

Is there anything you can't do? Haha...

Do you draw anything else other than people? Would love to see.

Great self portrait paintings! and the digital sketches are coming along. It's fun to see how artist transition into the digital realm with their experience. Keep posting.

    it has been a while..

first of all, thanks Velocity Kendall, HAJiME, AztcFireFlower, Aryeh, cuptow555, Rain Walker for your nice words, they really push me.

As for the questions asked, I really do focus on portraits, although I want to broaden my spectrum.

The last oil portrait took me about 5 hours in two sittings. In the first sitting I concentrated on getting a variety of hues down and getting the proportions down, not bothering about values so much. In the second sitting I modelled all the shapes out of the mosaic of different hues, focusing on edges and plane changes. I am adding a better picture of it in this post.

Here is some new stuff I made. A little photomanipulation where I took a friends picture and changed his gender - the eyes and mouth are on the exact same spot and the nose is slightly changed. Then a concept sketch for an 8 page comic I am working on right now (which I will post when it's done), an algraphy, a fairly old oil sketch and a portrait in pencils.

Also, my website is up! Check it out - www.saschavernik.com

    Thanks for your support.

So few posts here! I really love your style, you have lots of knowledge and ability... love how you render faces. My favorites are the gender swap and the character right below that one. Lovely work!
