    Inglorious Basterds Typographic Poster *updated*

Hey all, hope this is the right thread for this, I am new here. This was an assignment I had in class for a typographic poster, this is one of the versions I did, I'll post the others later once I get my external hd back. I don't know how fond I am of the background, let me know your thoughts. Thanks!

*update* I switched the text around and made it going from up to down on one of the quotes. I don't really want to rotate it to make it easier to read as this is the way a swastika goes.

I'm new to this, but looks great to me! Love the concept and the texture.

You should have the beginning of the sentences leading the eye down instead of up. When I tried to read this it took me a minute to figure the flow. Play around with positioning of the swastika by spinning it abit, controlling the movement of the viewer's eye downward.

"Everything must serve the idea. The means used to convey the idea should be the simplest and clear. Just what is required. No extra images. To me this is a universal principle of art. Saying as much as possible with a minimum of means."

Yea I have another version with the 2nd quote going from top to bottom, I'll probably switch it that way.

Man, it's hard to read when the direction is haphazard. One is from left to right and the other if from down to up. Like OmenSpirits said, make the swastika 'spin' or in a much better sense, make the typography in a circular-like motion like a fan, tornado, sinkhole or whirlpool.

I wanna be better at digital arts each day... if possible.

I missed the first version, I think, but this is readable without to much trouble. Well done on that, and I'm glad you didn't have to rotate it (you didn't, did you? I don't think I would know). Very strong, violent colors. I like it.

^Thanks. Yea I didn't rotate it because that is how the swastika goes.

Looks good. It wasn't to hard for me to read, but i would play around with the spacing of the words a little more. The background texture and color is really cool.

    Jeff,

Nice job. From a 6 year graphic design point of view it's good.

Looks a lot like, http://guardianz.deviantart.com/#/d2aktip . Regardless, it looks fantastic, maybe the background seems rather too contrasted though.
