I need to overcome my fears of showing this stuff, so here i am making a sketchbook here on CA I've been lurking around here for some time now, and as i am now finally forcing myself to tackle my worst demons, i feel that i should confront my worst, and by that i mean, putting it out there to get crits and any advice that can help...no man is an island
this first post will just have the little thumbnail thingy, and then i will post my current sketchbook, up too now as well as any digital study stuff i have.
Thanks in advance for stopping by and taking your time to look through this crap pile as i struggle to become a decent artist

Wow, really top notch still life's. I've got to get in the habit of doing those. It's interesting; I think your painting skills really trump your pencil sketches, at least thus far, which isn't typically what you find. It's usually the other way around. I think that's pretty cool. You've got a natural talent for being an awesome painter, congratulations!
Awesome stuff to look at. I'll be checking this one often.

thanks lunarsis, i think you are right on with that, i've always seen pencils as a means to get ideas out, never to fully form them so my rendering skills...even my doodling skills have fallen far behind, i hope to remedy that someday
far from a productive day
so, a still life speedy in photoshop, and some doodles in ink and pencil from imagination (bad idea.....bad bad idea : / ) and finally something i've never done before, a drawing from life of absolutely nothing...just whatever was around me. I have to admit, though im ashamed...it was far more difficult than i imagined.
anyhow, as always c&c always appreciated

not sure im going to get much time to draw today. here is morning warm up from a tv still, and a few 5 minute doodles from a few days ago. All from internet pictures nothing special or good. If i get the chance to draw more today i will post some more.
Edit: having trouble getting images to show, but it seems like i can get one at a time, i will try to post others in a bit
EDIT THE EDIT FFS. still not showing flicks...maybe im slow but the attachment manager seems to be wonky atm

thanks for the kind words jonathan
i've spent far too long doing graffiti, i should have moved on years ago. It was easier to quit smoking than it is to stop scribbling my name.
anyhow trying yet again to upload pics, its been a bit now maybe it will let me now.
hopefully the images show and i wont have to delete this post :3

decided to test my bravery yesterday and stepped up to sketching in ink and marker instead of pencil
i think it turned out for the best though i may be wrong
overall some hits, some misses, some imagination, some study etc etc etc.
NOW its time to draw, until tomorrow

Your still life paintings and movie studies get better and better. But I was wondering that green mario mushroom is next to a lighter, do you keep weed in that. I do, its a good little nug container. Anyway keep posting I'm practicing the same kind of stuff, except it looks about 10x worse. Cheers!

December 24th, 2010 #29
getting ready for 2 days of non stop holidays didnt leave me much time tonight
but i did manage to get a few thumbnail landscape studies done inbetween house cleaning and general christmas anxiety >.>
happy holidays CA
January 3rd, 2011 #30
guh, time to get back to work, been slacking since the holidays....no more time for that
not alot to add, just a few more quick landscape study thumbnail things. trying to get myself back into the swing of things, however this does mark the first time i didnt default back to graffiti after a break to get working again. it isnt a huge step forward but its definatly in the right direction (or so i hope)
