I'm looking to improve my portfolio for Graphic Design(It's pretty empty). Just curious if anyone has ideas or suggestions.
Just do anything inside your head:
Typography, labels, posters, ads, logos etc.
I wanna be better at digital arts each day... if possible.
you need to always put your best work forward. basically websites are a way to convince people further to do what they always wanted to do. You can do neither of these if you do not have work to show, let alone good work. The truth is that not all of your work will be good so put some of your best ones on your site. If you dont have a lot of work now then its no time to worry about a portfolio. Your getting ahead of yourself. You need to start working and do many projects. In fact you should always be working on projects. Downtime should be used to learn and grow.
Is there any way you could make the website a little more user friendly. It's a little annoying how every time you click a link it opens in a new window. In order for me to see your whole portfolio- I'd have to have a million tabs open.
You have a very nice artistic style but I think you almost have to much work and it's a little scattered. If you want to keep it all in - maybe there's a different way to organize it so it's more cohesive?
Great work though!
My suggestion for graphic design would be too look at the design work that inspires you and you enjoy doing. Like, do you really like making logos or do you like doing package design? If you like making logos then find a bunch of logos you like and analyze why you like them and them make up some of your own fake company logos. If you like doing package design then go to the store and take a bunch of photographs of products you like and re-create your own.
