Voted Hunchback, for really nice mood and presentation. I like the idea of discovering (or possibly making a trek to) and ancient tree, but it would have been nice for some sort of interaction or somewhat obvious story, for instance having the spirits from within the ancient tree healing a fallen soldier or something like that.
BlackDelphin; cool surreal idea (could also be taken as "magic") but the overall rendering and values don't really help the image. If it's about light, make sure the lights are lit up and bright. To help show that they;'re bright, usually everything else needs to be darker.
Lancer; really neat idea I think though that some ancient carvings would have hit home the idea. the overall composition and attitude of the robot seems a bit plain, it might have been better for them to find a huge, inoperative robot or activating one and finding out it's hostile.
Jake; wish you would have labeled it because I can't quite tell if it's ancient or death (I'm PRETTY sure it's death) Like a lot of entries the execution is nice, but I think there could have been more of a concept, or at least more clarity with the concept. The feeling of decay is hit on nicely though.
Godd job guys

voted for hunchback.
though, hunchback, i HAVE seen better stuff from you. maybe in the next few rounds figure out what you wanna do and just stick with it so you can refine it more. haha i always see you with like 10 different entries before you choose a final
jacob kobryn: i think you went a little too crazy with the photo textures. its kinda hard to see whats goin on at this point. and just for future ref, its fine if you use photos in your entries, but i think you should probably paint more other than just a straight-up photo manip
blackdelphin: jason pretty much covered it. i also would suggest against a perfectly flat horizon
