    Ey feller

Good to see you're keeping up the same update rates. That second attempt at your self portrait is looking so much better.
Not much else to say, just keep up the good work and try to find ways that'll help you retain what you're learning in your studies. It's like in science; you can learn an equation for something, but you only really understand it when you test it out a few times on IRL situations.
Anyways, keep up the good work.

Hey FrancisBacon! U HAVE A VRY NICE SKETCHBOOK I LIKEIT.

I really want to see more out of your life studies. It seems to me like the edge of the page is really confounding you... try a larger sketchbook and draw a frame before you start drawing. I hear it also helps with composition.

T-T spare me your life study models, I would love to offer them a home between my paper and pencil.

lol anyways like seeing all these updates from you, o-o its just awesome seeing just your up to. Along with what karmiclychee mentioned about your sketchbook, i'm just curious what sketchbook size are you using since I myself use a pretty big 12x18 sketchbook and find myself kinda wanting to use a smaller one for variety ahah.

OH LORD. All my friends are arriving at once ;D

    naidy: yaaay \o/ i shall

larchist: you know you're always invited :3 thanks larchie

lychee: these drawings are from a standard a4 pad..i did try the framing technnique(very very briefly) but couldnt get the hang of it yet,a lot of my figures refuse to stay on the page allocated to them D: i have a MASSIVE PAD (will take a photo later) but its not so portable for life drawing :C

Pervy: hoiii buddy. Ill send you some of the life models in an envelope- as i said to lychee,i primarily work out of a4 pads but as we speak the only one i have left aside from the humungous unmovable one is a very small a6 moleskin..and im all outta printer paper too ffffff.

Couldnt update last night because the night consumed me! ill update after work today :3

    See you soon,

Hey, some interesting pen work going on there.
I think you're starting to get a better grasp on the underlying structure of heads and faces. Now, keep on building on that understanding. Make a concious effort to notice common patterns in faces and always try to apply what you've learnt in your imaginary drawings, that way you'll be sure to retain what you learn from your studies.

Personally I think you're doing great, but there's always room to push yourself.
So keep up the studies, they're looking great.

Hey, thanks for stopping by my sketchbook.

For your strokes, try to limit to a single stroke for one side of an object (e.g. using one stroke for one side of a square), or else the drawing looks scratchy. I would recommend the book "Keys to drawing" by Bert Dodson, the book has some pretty good advice that can benefit you.

    Why hello, hello.
    What's this then?

That is a fair amount of studies, really admire the dedication you've been showing lately and believe me, it's starting to show results. Auugh. I feel lazy just looking at what you've been doing. Time for me to do more studies, I reckon.
    By the way, nice desk.

It's great to see someone decide to work hard and go for it.

Your work station looks too tidy, or maybe that's just me.

I didn't think it was possible to be called an artist when you have nothing to say. It's like being a writer who publishes individual words as books and expects to be praised for it.

Wow awesome updates! Those loomis studies are looking like they've been ripped right out of the book and its definitely showing in your improvement.

lol and like black spot mentioned, your station is nice and tidy *cough* unlike mine which could probably scare children if they saw the messy environment ahah. But, anyways definitely keep up those studies because it's always inspring to see you pushing forward!

    ^This.

Just the fact that you're spamming the studies AND evaluating your own work is great, it also saves me the trouble of critting, which I'm terrible at anyways.
Yes, work on establishing an understanding of proportions. In general though, I think you're getting better pretty fast.

Any chance of squeezing in more body studies? I think you're getting a strong understanding of facial structure, so be sure to look at bodies in as much depth (if not more) when you feel more confident.

thanks naidy,to be honest ive always drawn a lot of faces but there are still huge amounts of wrongness with them so i didnt want to move on til i was happy with them.

Today was an ANGSTY day. I was in a bad mood and workmates werent helping,so i had a real urge to paint which i never do..so heres some terrible traditional attempts..some watercolours, some acrylics and i started going over the skintone on the big blue profile i did about 2 months ago (as a correction)..started on my watercolour moleskin(clouds woo!) did a god awful landscape and a 2 min doodle for a size test- i always loooove those landscape sketches ppl do with a teeny silhouette of a person and it looks so simple but eeeuuugh. Lots are wips and i feel like my heads gonna ASSPLODE today so ill see you guys tommorow.

oh...and i was sketching a few ppl at work and i liked how the drawings came out but they looked NOTHING like the ppl i was drawing, gotta work out why.

    Lo again.

First off, I really like those enviros. I was drawing some landscapes today and failed spectacularly, especially on fitting a church in, So I'm finding myself appreciate people's landscapes more xD Good on you for making a decent job of it.
And I can understand why you'd prefer to focus still on the faces, a good choice and like I said it's better to gain confidence on heads and faces first if that's what you feel is best.

So, so. Good studies as usual and I like the face with the patch and scarf, seems like a pretty cool guy.
Keep up the good work as usual! I'll be keeping an eye out.

I wouldn't use a ruler, just get better at drawing straight lines - slightly wonky does give a building some charm. Maybe a ruler for rough perspective, but it is easy to get too reliant on it.

    Studies are coming on well.
