Cool stuff as always IL - some very inspirational sketches and a good reminder to let loose as well - and that animation is gold

    thankyou very much guys!

heres some sketches, a couple for an enviro concept, and one trying to make some sense outof painting loose. A big thing i think is to step back and analyze it abstractly, smudging out recognizable areas is good, see how much you can smudge out before its unrecognizable. Lots of times I notice there are shapes and edges that i really like in an abstract way, but they are meaningless for the composition. Gotta get the cool shapes in the right places!

Kambei- thanks! i don't really use any real crazy brushes in PS, i think the craziest most subtle effects in PS can be achieved through quickmasking- particularly using smudge tool to smudge the mask around then painting inside it.

there are crazy brushes in 'harmony (browser based drawing)' though, i think this program is kinda old, but i haven't seen many artists i know experiment with it. very fun so heres some crappy fig studies, i really gotta work on this stuff, pump it up yall pumping iron everyday

Thanks man, Hav'nt done alot of quick masking myself - I really need to experiment more with new techniques! Those online brushes are cool might be a fun place to start something from. Will have a play around cheers!

Take a browse of my sketchbook if you have a spare few mins, would be keen to know what you think.

    haha

was trying a matte sketch, then got bored. collaging has its uses in digital, i don't see how people organize it though. its funny there could be alot more skills in composing photographic stuff than rendering with a super sharp pencil all day, but most people wouldn't see it
