I just got back into the habit of drawing everyday, realizing that you can only get better when you practice everyday. Tips/Advice/Critiques are welcome since I'm pretty hard on myself and am eager to improve on my art
Warm ups, using graphite and ink. Most of these are photo references, save for some hands. Also drew my own characters below
More photo references of figures / landscapes -
Faces - Exaggerated and Realistic
Nice gestures, and I absolutely love the "Big Ladies" page.. you can really see the volume there and there isn't any distracting detail. I think you might really benefit from a life drawing class if you can find one. You might want to work on your rendering a bit, maybe look at how some masters rendered their pen work. Less scribbling and more neat shapes/marks could help make things look much cleaner. Keep it up!
Sketchbook - freakmod wants to learn how to draw really well
Thank you! I will definitely head back to my life drawing classes this week I do miss drawing nude models.
I will post my older works dating back from 2008-2010, lotsa figure drawing/paintings. Just this summer I didn't get the chance to do that!
Here are my old life drawing / figure studies on different mediums from 2008-2010 during my studies at the Fine Arts program
No idea where to place these but they're also older works from 2008-2010, using different mediums from charcoal, acrylics, watercolours, oils and photoshop. Last piece is sculptural - mixed media assemblage - oil based plastecine with circuit boards/cellphones
damnit,...........there sooo good,.........
It seems to me you're rushing through your sketchbook, you don't take time there
to develop a nice rendered subway sketch. Where are your HAND drawings, EH,.....
I will go back to Hand drawings too, portfolio time is comming,...
A compilation of gestural and figure sketches from weeks ago
Those studies are excellent, and I like that statue with the circuit boards.
