Jean Giraud (Moebius), H.R. Giger wallpapers?

So I just watched Moebius Redux, wow, what a great show. To be honest I did not know much about Jean Giraud, but his work is fantastic. Great watching him with HR Giger working on Alien, really cool.

Anywho, just wondering if anyone has any wallpapers for the desktop of Moebius of HR Giger?

What are your thoughts on these two, you can really see how his art influenced so many great artists today.

I remember buying my first Heavy Metal from a gas station when I was in the 5th grade. Been collecting ever since. Moebius being featured in copy on the cover always made me anxious to get somewhere so I can read them in peace. When Aliens came out and revamped the Alien era fanfare, Giger was everywhere you looked, he was also one of my top inspirations to take the airbrush much more seriously than getting a few dollars for putting hearts and names on T-shirts down at the oceanfront. As far as influences, I see biomechanical played to death to the point where some artists don't know who started it and have no desire to keep the clean edges and blended areas true to form, no symmetry where needed and adding saturated colors is an eyesore in honor of the man. Moebius influences me to create that alternate universe while keeping physics and detail intact for the sake of telling a good story alone.

You should read Incal then but I don't know if the original color edition is available in english, they did a recolor and printed in smaller format for the US market a few years ago, what a disgrace!!

Sweet, thanks for the pics, anything in 1280x1024? I really love his art, is it just me, or is there a strong connection to the art in Hayao Miyazaki. Also a huge fan of Frank Quitely, who seems to borrow some cues from Jean Giraud.

Miyazaki was inspired a lot by Moebius. Especially when he made Nausicań

G_U_T_S - what I do if I can't get the wallpaper at the size I need is open it in photoshop and resize it so that at least one side is the full length or height of my screen (so in your case resize to 1280 x whatever photoshop changes it to) and then add a black border on to the top and bottom so that it fits the screen properly. You might want to try that if you can't get the resolution your after.

That Moebius wallpaper is a bitch to hang, you think you're putting paste on the back and the next think you know it's all over the front!
