MiladThaha : Heyye, thank ye i think it was drawn in photoshop.. can't find the original file to check on it :/ true that, he woulda fit the picture in a lungi and with a kuppi or sometin gotta work on more hands and fingers!

Gthm/ : hehe.. thank ye! well, i kinda had an iball, it stopped working, and so I got the bamboo..

    Vipin : Thank yous!

today's uploads: ah, they're all doodles and scribbles.. more posemaniacs.. The first two are with photoshop and the 3rd one was in sketchbook pro.. I feel the speed sketching's helping me to reduce my scribbly lines in the books.. Will draw, confirm and let you know!

I appreciate the quick figure studies. Great way to learn how to see the figure's expression much more quickly. Great, keep it up.

    Hey hey!

Vatteh : Thank you! Will keep drawing

Milad : yea, start updating your sketchbook too!

    Vipin : thank ye!

Long time no post.. The cpu isn't working too well nowadays :/ It can go off at any second.. I've gotten it temporarily repaired and by the coming week it should be back to normal Started off with a page of posemaniacs today, this time drawing poses from the different time slots.. The first row has sketches that were done in 15 seconds and towards the last row, the sketches are 45 seconds long..

Ooh, and tried my hand at digital painting last week, then a bit more today after the cpu came to life.. Worked on it a few hours and this is what it looks like, no reference used till now, but I'll need some to draw the ear and get the shading right.. And hey, curious to know.. How do you blend the brush strokes in photoshop? Do you use the dynamics in PS or any other technique? Would love to learn!

The Gurch & Rubina8tor : Thank you so much!! I'm sorry I couldn't get back to replying earlier.. I'm gonna stop by your sketchbook as soon as I get back from class

I've been gone a long time :/ got sick, and caught up with stuff that didn't leave any free time.. And it really does show in my lines now.. Must get back to sketching daily!! Here's a self portrait (a not so accurate one ) that I tried out yesterday.. I got inspired by Rembrandt's method of autobiography through his many self portraits.. More later! ^_^

Ello! I'm back hopefully for longer than last time, my computer's gone for repair again (wonder how many times i've already said that this year)..

Gthm/death : thank yous! i'll get back to posting more often!

Aand, todays sketches, are actually yesterday's post from Spartan Drawing Camp in the community activities.. I'd been meaning to join them for weeks now.. The gesture drawings look like they're back to square one from lack of practice :/

We had an optional master study to work on, and I picked Michelangelo, the only offline reference i had. But what I did was copy his work exactly as it was, which wasn't a study. What I was supposed to do didn't sink in until today morning, and no more copy drawing from images for me!

    Happy New Year!

Started off painting some still life today. Photoshop, colours all in one layer, its still unfinished, I've gotta get my butt to college..

My new years art resolutions :

    1. Spend atleast half an hour each morning on learning something new, leave no day undrawn!
    2. Upload more work, and network more
    3. Learn - Digital painting (photoshop, painter)
    - Master human anatomy
    - Work on landscapes and backgrounds!
    4. Build up work for an awesome portfolio.

I'll be adding more as the year progresses

    Any new years resolutions?

Painted some still life last night. And this time I painted using different layers, which I thought turned out better than my previous still life work..

Glad to see you painting is coming on, your figure drawings are really nice and fluid. Do you use pose maniacs for these?

Really like that Kettle and the medicine painting. I will give you one advice that I give to everybody whos studying basics. Use good brushes wish hard edges and half a blender brush(with really soft edges) and try to use blender brush as less as possible. A soft edge brush makes a painting/edges/forms weak.

And yeah its good to see you here, And great to see that you are working hard at it. Keep at it and I am sure you will go places. I can already see lotsa improvement, just keep working at the basics and compositions.
ITs nice to see another Bhaartiya here.
Would keep an eye for this thread.

    Take care.

    Ello!

@ Rubina8or : Thank you! I started off with posemaniacs, but then there was the Gesture Drawing Tool.. Thought it was better than posemaniacs.. Postin the link in your sketchbook too

@ Bhanu : Heyy, thank you for the encouragement Bhanu! means a lot yep, will keep that in mind for the next painting.. I've been meaning to try out different brushes..

Been spending most of my free time in college drawing (or dozing off). Got some hand studies done over last week, some studies from Loomis and a page of scribbley gesture drawing for today Till next time! I've got deadlines to meet :/

More pages from the sketchbook, these were drawn at random, some were from when mom and I went to the market.. That's a lady selling fish by the roadside.. Creative way of hanging the scales from sticks, HAD to draw that

I did try some more photo reffed painting in PS, which didn't turn out looking great <_< so I scribbled a tree, shut down the computer, and headed back to learn the basics.. With sketching and some watercolours - either ways, I'm bad at painting T_T
